Rev, Vernon Dears of Exeter Pentecostal Church led after- noon worship services on - ..Fchruary 23 and' the Lakeview. Singers provided an evening cif gospel music. Twenty-two seniors took • part in thc Senior Dining Group on February 25 and helped the resident celebrate the February birthdays with a party, with entertainment pro- vided by Marie Flynn and the Huron Strings. Birthday greetings go to Helen Anderson; Edna Waters and Bonnie May. • Rev. Perry Mitchell led wor- ship service on February 16 with Belva Fuss as volunteer organist. • Winnie Hutton, pastdl!al care --volunteer provided visitation on February 17. .The • Fellowship Singers, led by Gail Mason, gave -a program of music. On February 18 residents had theirworkout at funand fitness followed by quiz ques- tions from the Mensa quiz book. Residents arc never sure which workout is more of a challenge, the physical or mental one. Secretary Anita Kreutzwiser read the minutes of the previous meeting. Since we had a new member join the club we all took turns to introduce ourselves. . . To learn, the value of our money we played budget __.Mania, The idea was to find our, total income and expenses for a year. After our game . we received a handout with items and their prices we were to find out which one is a better bar- gain. To end the work part we all. took a vote on a club name and we decided on Super Savors. Our next meeting is Tuesday. Feb. 16th at thc VandenHovens. • •Meeting three was at the VandenHovens. To start thc meeting leader Gerda led in the 4-H pledge and the roll call. We looked over a sheet `with home- made cleaners on it. We then received a handout with five ways to have a cleaner home and town. After this we moved into the kitchen and' ate cookies and orange juice. - Louise McBride. Jeremy Becker and Brian' Poppe handed out the hooks and collected S20 from members. Elections were held: presi- dent - Jayden Russel; vice presi- dent David VandenHovcn; secretary - Patricia Martin; press reporter - Adrian Ountenspergcr. . Mr. Dolmage talked about combines and how they will change in the next five years. Then Clarence explained to • members how to maintain a combine. He explained what parts of thc combine should be checked every day and every 1000 hours. Bob Bell and Harry Smith received the offering.. Tracy Bahro led the February 28th service. Joyce Pepper played the organ. The ofrering was received by Al Hoggarth and Harry Smith. Sympathy is extended to Marg Cole and family and to the family of the late Rochus Faber. Public speaking at Legion Public speaking competi- tion was held at -Hensall Legion on February 16. St. Boniface School, Zurich Public School and Hensall .Public School all participat- ed. Judges Margaret Stewart, Jim Chapman and .Dave- Frayne. had a difficult task.
