Agnes Murray celebrates 82nd birthday with family
Congratulations to Agnes
Murray, who celebrated her
82nd birthday on March
1/99. Visiting with Agnes on
the weekend, to mark the
occasion, were Larry and
Lina Murray, Adrian, Marissa
and Lydia, Brampton; Bob
and Shirley Murray.
Sebringville; Paul Murray
and Raven; Ken and Anne
Murray, Christa, Jeff, Karen,
Kevin and Melissa, Manley;
and Claire Murray, St.
Columban.
Gerry and Karen Ryan have
returned home after spending
a week at Puerto Vallarta,
Mexico. Gerry reports that
the weather was dry and a
wonderful 85 degree temper-
ature. Besides staying at the
resort, Gerry and Karen went
on a boat cruise and went up
into the mountains. Gerry
says that the poverty in the
area is very apparent once
you leave the resort.
Welcome back to Ray and
Eleanor Maloney, our snow-
birds who have returned from
Florida.
A local group, including
Jim and Karen Cronin, Jerry
and Heather Cronin, Nancy
Cronin, Joanne Regier, Leo
and Mary Smith and Ken and
Anne Murray, caught the bus
this past Saturday and went
to Niagara Falls. While the
main focus of the trip was the
casino, some of the group
took a walk to the Falls, and
report that the sunshine glit-
tering off the ice made a
beautiful scene, well worth
travelling to see.

telephone conversation with
his parents, Ron and Mary
Ryan, he reports that the
weather has been springlike
with the hillsides starting to
green up. The altitude there is
about 1500 metres higher
than in Winnipeg. He reports
that the countryside is very ,
picturesque. They were given
a tour of the area around
Nazareth and the Sca of
Galilee. The arca has many
shrines, churches and places
of religious interest. The
biggest surprise to him was
Capernaum,. which he said
was not as big as St.
Columban, with only two.
fishing boats there on the Sea .
of Galilee. Of great interest
was a 2000 year old fishing
boat which had been raised
out of the sea. The Mount of
the Beatitudes is also near the
Sea of Galilee here. The
biggest danger at this time

111 UPCOMING CHANGES 111 THE ELECTRICITY INDUSTRY.
e < You may or may not have heard about it, but Ontario's electricity industry will be open to competition in the year 2000.
So how will k affect you? It means quite simply that you'll soon be able to shop around Tor the best service -and -the
best price from a number of different power suppliers. As part of these changes, Ontario Hydro will become two
completely separate companies: Ontario Power Generation, responsible for generating power and Ontario Hydro
Services Company, which will look after delivery. retail sales and service. An Independent Electricity Market Operator will
be established to ensure reliability of, the system. Experience shows 'that increased competition brings with it better prices
as well as new and improved services and technologies. And with more Choice out there in the market, the power will
truly be yours. For a brochure with more lnformadon, visit our website at www.hydro.on.ca or call 1488.927-4477.
