Darryl Nyland and Denise Koehler are part of the Seaforth Junior Bantam team who won the bronze medal. Colleen O'Reilly, Owen. O'Reilly. Andrea Murray. Denise. Verbernc and' Kevin Ryan play on the Seaforth Pec Wee hroomball team and won fourth place. Frank Cronin and Gary and Ann Cronin, St. Columban, visited in Newmarket on the weekend and attended the wedding .of Keelan Cronin and Ken Robinson. Keclan is the -daughter of Anne;Cronin - and the late Lome Cronin. The pupils of St. Columban school know how to beat those winter blues! A winter carnival was held at the . school 'this past Friday afterncx►n. Jennifer Ingratta, who is the French teacher for the grade four to grade eight classes. organised the event. The aim, as ,part of their French course. is to promote 'awareness: of the French culture' while they arc studying the language. In Quebec.. the big winter carnival ended on Shrove Tuesday. The students study the history and culture. The classes made up 20 teams .who --participated in 10 events. While the events were held indoors, they were similar to those held at the Congratulations to Ron and Michelle (O'Rourke) Dixon who celebrated their third wedding anniversary yesterday, Feb. 23. Heart and Stroke • A Febrtary 13 curling bonspiel raised $1.700 for the local chapter of the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
