St. Anne's
preparing
for second
semester
We are one week closer to
the end of semester one and
the exam cycle. I encourage
students to continue their
studies in preparation for
their examinations. The
students need to take time to
respond to classroom
reviews and to discuss with
their teachers, issues that
still remain confusing from
their studies.
I have been out at various
elementary schools in the
Huron Perth Catholic
District School Board with
Mr. Craig, the Head of
Student Services, to discuss
with the students and parents
a variety of issues that are
important. •The next event is
our orientation day at St.
Anne's.
All Grade 8 students will
be invited to come to the
school and spend the
morning in sessions related
to various subjects taught in
grade nine, followed by a
lunch in our cafeteria.
Orientation day is Feb. 2 in
the morning.
This Monday we had our
Grade 8 parents' night for
students who plan to attend
St. Anne's in Grade 9 next
year. This article was not
puhlished last week as we
were unable to get it out due
to the school closures. The
parents who were unable to
attend the meeting should
contact the school if they
have any concerns or
questions.
This is the last week of
semester one and exams
begin today, Jan. 27.
Students should check their
schedules carefully to be
sure they are present for all
their exams. Students should
be sure they know their"
section number so that they
can easily find in which
classroom they will be
writing.
Next semester we hope to
adopt a simpler way of
scheduling exams. Parents
should check the February
newsletter for more
information on this
scheduling process. The next
newsletter and calendar is
due out the first day of
Semester 2, February 4.
Note: If we must close the
school during exams, the day
we close will be moved to
the end of the exam schedule
cycle. We will not shift the
entire schedule by one day.
