pital: Her friend's will be glad to
know that she is improving.
The harbingers of spring are ar-
riving daily. This week, we have
noticed for the first time that the
Martins have returned' and have
taken possession of their old 'haunts
in Mr. Fitton's verandah and other
places on Main street which were
provided for them in past years.
Special Easter services were held
in James at. church on Sunday. .A
reception service was held in the
morning when several, united with
the church.. At the evening ser-
vice the choir rendered the beauti-
ful cantata "The. Crucifixion" by,
Stainer. Among those who . took
part in the solo work were Miss
Reta Rowe; Messrs. Chas .Godbolt,
Walter Cutbush, Wm. Ford, Lloyd
Parsons and the organist, Mr.W. R.
Goulding. The pastor, Rev. W. E.
Donnelly delivered a short but `in-
teresting Easter message.
The Tuxis Boysto the number of
twenty had a most enjoyable trip
on ; Tuesday and made London ;a
much livelier place. They'. ;visited'
McCormicks and in addition to wat-
ching
atching. the whirl of machinery and
studying the process of manufacture
they consumed a good share of one
day's output of candy. The, capac-
ity is over 30,000 pounds a day, so
the boys felt that a real, good treat
would not embarrass the firm. A
trip to the Kellogg Corn Flakes fac-
tory' was thoroughly enjoyed* and
the insight into the methods of pro-
duction was a real education. In
Ithe afternoon •the time was spent at
a the Hobby Fair and a. keen interest
was taken in the many exhibits of
art and technical work and all kinds
of homecraft. The exhibit of push -
mobiles was the big attraction. .A.
little tour of inspection about the
University grounds was the grand
finish of a big day.

topic from the study book which
was very interesting. Mrs. Archie
Morgan then sang a solo which was
much enjoyed by all, The meeting
was closed in the usual way and a
social cup of tea was then enjoyed.

The funeral of Sarah Jane Jones,
a highly esteemed' pioneer of Tuck-
ersmith: whose death occurred on
the old, homestead, on April 8th
following a week's illness, at the
age of 8.1 years, which took place
on I+'riday, April 10 from St. James
Catholic Chureh, to St, James Cem-
etery, was one of the largest motor
funerals ever seep in this district,
The 'deceased d was' born in Dorchest-
er,
er, England; where she was married
to the late Thomas Lane, who 'pre-
deceased her 20 years' ago, ,They
settled near Granton, on the "Lon-
don road, later moving to the third
CAncesslon of Tuckersmith, Rev.,
F. "Goetz` 'officeted. The pall-
bearers were six grandchildren. She
is survived by three daughters, Mrs.
Leo Harrigan, Lucan; Elizabeth,
at home, and Ethel, who resides
with two brothers on the London
road; also five. sons, Thomas on the
Mill Road; John, in McKillop;
Frank and William, on the London
road, and Charles, near Brumfield.

A real estate deal of considerable
value was consummated in Toronto
by which the Chappell property at
1188 St. CIair Avenue, passes into.
the hands of Mr. T. F. Boyle, form-
erly of Exeter.
Mr. Boyle leased this property
from Mr. Chappell about three years
ago and he has carried on a dry,
goods business. The property which
changed hands at around $30,000,
has one of the largest store front-
ages on at. Clair and comprises
two stores and apartments above,
with garage in rear to lane. Mr,
Chappell operateda dry goods and
shoe store here for many years. He.
was one of the early pioneer mer-
chants on the "Hill" and rented his
property owing to ill health. In
