A CHANGE OF HEART
"Mom, I've already told
you, I don't believe in Santa
Claus!" shouted Luke to his
mother.
"You know that's not true,"
replied his mother Sue.
"Santa is just make
believe."
"Fine. If that's what you
think. Just don't spoil
Christmas for Cindy.
Understand?"
"I understand. Now can I
go watch TV, before it's time
for bed?"
"Only if you behave
yourself."
"Thanks mom."
Luke is a twelve year old
boy who insists on not
believing in Santa Claus, just
because he thinks it's 'Not
cool to believe in Santa' and
'it's impossible to deliver
presents all around the world
in one night.' Four year old •
Cindy, on the other hand, is
his sister and she loves Santa.
Sue finally gave in to let
Luke not believe in Santa as
long as he didn't ruin Cindy's
Christmas. Luke was quite
pleased with himself for
talking his mother into letting
him believe in what he
wanted. "I'll show him
somehow that Santa is real,"
murmured Sue to herself.
"Luke! Cindy! Time to go
to bed!" hollered Sue.
"Can't we stay up for a
little bit longer?" whined
Luke.
"Yeah, 'cause 1 want to stay
up and sce Santa"
complained Cindy.
"No. Not tonight Lukc.
And Cindy, you need your
sleep or else you'll be cranky
tomorrow," insisted their
mom.
"But-" complained Luke.
"No buts. Now go to bed
you two," interrupted their
father Jim.
"I'm going," grumbled
Luke and Cindy in unison.
Thud'. Thud! Thud! Thud!
"Oh! Help me! came a
muffled cry from the
chimney.
"What was that,"
questioned Cindy to herself.
"Luke! Luke wake up. I
heard somebody downstairs."
"Go to bed Cindy,"
muttered Luke.
"No. Come downstairs with
me. Please?" insisted Cindy.
"If that will make you
,IIiI.
"Santa! Is that really you?"
cried Cindy.
"Cindy. Shh, you'll wake
up mom and dad," whispered
Luke.
"Yes, Cindy, it's me, Santa
Claus. Do you think you and
your brother could help me
out of this chimney?"
questioned Santa.

Once upon a time there lived a
boy named Shawn. He liked playing
with his friend Jessica von Euw.
Jessica liked to go to Shawn's house
to play with Shawn. Shawn's mom
would give them cookies and juice.
They would play outside in the
snow and make snowmen. Jessica
gave Shawn a present for
Christmas. She gave him a sound
book. Shawn gave Jessica a present
too. He gave her a bowling ball set.
They had lots of fun playing with
their gifts together.

happy, I'II go downstairs. But
don't wake up mom and dad.
Okay?"
"Okay. Now hurry up,"
urged Cindy.
Thcy tiptoed down the
stairs together so they
wouldn't wake up mom and
dad. When they saw the
fireplace, their mouths were
wide open with shock. There,
dangling from the fireplace
were a pair of legs with red
pants and black boots.

"Sure. Come on Luke. Help
me get Santa out of the
chimney," exclaimed Cindy,
full of excitement.
"Fine. But that's not Santa.
It's probably Dad pretending
to be Santa."
"Just help me Luke."
They tugged and pulled
until finally, Santa was out of
the chimney.
"Let me see this," said
Luke as he pulled Santa's
beard.

"Ow! Don't pull it. It's real,
see." said Santa to Luke.
"Oh my gosh! Santa is real!
Cindy! Santa's not make
believe! He's actually real.
Wait until all the guys hear
that I saw Santa!" exclaimed
Luke.
"1 told you so," replied
Cindy.
The next morning, sitting
around the Christmas tree,
Luke apologized for what he
had said the day before. Sue
looked puzzled, but gave him
a big hug. Luke never did tell
his mom why he had a
change of heart.

SARA'S CHRISTMAS
CAROL
Once upon a time there was
a selfish old man. He didn't
like Christmas and would say
bah humbug. Sara would try
to tell the old man that
Christmas was a beautiful
time of the year and that he
should be happy. The old
man told Sara to get out of
his house.
Then he fell asleep and a
ghost came. He talked to the
old man about being selfish
and also about being rude.
The old man woke up and
called Sara to come back to
his house.
Sara went.back to his house
not knowing,what to expect.
The old man wanted to say
he was sorry to Sara for
telling her to get out of his
house. Sara was so happy to
hear the old man talk like this
that she sang many beautiful
Christmas carols for him.
She has a lovely voice and
she filled his house with
happiness. The man was so
glad that Sara had sang for
him that he gave her
presents.
