Constable Mike McCormack of the London Tactical Rescue Unit places St. Anne's
student, Leandra Power in a bomb suit. McCormack and Constable Jim Irvine were at the
school telling students in Joan Devereaux's Grade 11 English Media class about their job
and training from being snipers to explosives experts and handling situations from
hostage takings to bomb threats and security for the Queen when she visited London.
The duo were at the school on Nov. 17.

Tickets for the New Years
Eve dance are now on sale.
Congratulations to the
Auxiliary bowling team who
came in fourth in District last
week. They now advance to
the next level in April..
Congratulations also to the
cribbage teams who
participated in the Zone Cl
contest. Seaforth came first
and another team from
Seaforth also goes on to the
next level in the spring.
There will be coffee, beef
on a bun and more available
in the branch after the Santa
Claus parade on Friday.

Legion initiates a dozen new members
On Nov 19 Hensall Legion
held -its regular meeting,
beginning with the initiation
of 12 members to the Branch.

Larry Uyl reported once
again that the Legion had a
successful poppy campaign,
realizing a total of $1612.36.
Motions were made to
make a donation to the Adult
Day Centre, Huron Safe
Homes, and the Children's
Aid Society Christmas
Bureau. Provincial Service
Officer Randy Groundwater
will visit the Branch on Dec.

Eight members attend WI meeting
the November meeting of the Seaforth Women's Institute
(WI) was held at the home of Helen MacKenzie.
President Olive Papplc opened with a Remembrance Day
reading, followed by the Opening Ode and Mary Stewart
Collect. ,
Minutes'of the last meeting were read and approved. Roll
call was answered by eight members.
Reports were given by Olive Papple from the London Area
Convention and the fall board meeting.
The December meeting will be a potluck supper and
program in the Presbyterian church on Dec. 8 at 6:00 p.m.
Marion Gordon was in charge of the program.
Lunch was served by Marion Gordon, Marjorie Rock and
courtesy remarks were given by Viola Lawson.
Women host well attended banquet
St. Patrick's Catholic
Women's League (CWL)
hosted a mother/daughter,
sister and friend banquet in
the parish hall on Nov. 19.
It was well attended and
thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Special guests were
Dominic Franken and David
Murray (from Cow and Sow)
to play fiddle/violin. What
talent, we thoroughly
enjoyed them and look
forward to seeing them
again.
Earl Elliott of Dublin, died
at Seaforth Community
Hospital on Nov. 16.
