This program will be held at Seaforth District High School from 8:15 to 10:15 p.m. each Wednesday evening, for 10 weeks before Christmas and 10 weeks after. If you are interested in coming out please call the recreation office. _ "Story hour" Story hour starts at the the Seaforth Library on Oct. 16 and runs each Friday morning from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.- For more information please call the library at 527- 1430. Parent and tot playgroup The Parent and Tot Playgroup continues every Tuesday morning at the Northside United Church from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Guest speakers will talk from .10 to 11 a.m.. October's topics are: Oct. 13 - discipline and encouragement: Oct. 20 - reading to your child and literacy awareness Oct. 27 - Block Parent program: T.H.E. Bus will also he at the playgroup on Oct. 1.3 and 27. Citizenship Awards The recreation and parks committee is now accepting nominations for Scaforth's annual citizenship awards. in three categories: • service to'sportsi - a person that volunteer ti his or her time to sports organizations. or sports in general: . • civic service - a person that belongs to a service club n which he or she contributes many hours for the betterment of the community: •• humanitarian award - a person who is considerate of other people and is willing to • give his or her time to do so. These award, are chosen based on the individual's contribution to the .community in a volunteer • capacity. Anyone may. nominate an individual for any category by`submitting the.names, what category. and a reason why they should receive tht award. Nominations can he mailed • to the Seaforth Recreation Office at P.U. Box 885. ' Seaforth, ON NOK 1 WO. or fax or e-mail the office at the numbers at the end of this column. Deadline for nominations is Oct. 16. Senior shuffleboard Senior shuffleboard continues every Wednesday afternoon from 1:30 to 4 .p.m. at the Seaforth and District Community Centres.
