Centenaires to start their 25th season with many veterans
Seaforth's Centenaires have
signed 15 veterans in prepa-
ration for their Ontario
Hockey Association Junior
"D"evelopment League home
opener against the North
Middlesex Stars at the arena
Friday night.
Its is the first regularly
scheduled game in the
Centenaires' 25th season.
If his players work hard,
keep their heads in the game
and continue to have the right
attitude, second -year Cents
manager Dave Parsons says

this club has the potential to
do what it hasn't done since
1985-86 - win the OHA
championship.
"The players want it as
much as we do," says
Parsons.
He picks Lucan as the team
to beat in this season's
Morenz Division race. They
have a veteran club too, he
adds.
Last year the Cents went
the distance in an exciting
division final but relin-
quished the Morenz crown to
the Exeter Hawks, the team
they had wrung it from the
year previous.
The Cents finished their
exhibition season with a 1-3
won -loss record but on a high
note after an 8-4 win over the
Brussels Bulls at the arena
Friday night.
Veterans Shawn Walsh,
Daryl Jenson and Steve
Mclnally each scored twice,
and Mark Van Dooren had
five assists.
TWO SIGN "13"
Gone from last year's squad
are affiliate players Scott
Henderson and Derek
Nesbitt. Both have signed
junior B - Henderson with
the Cyclones in Listowel,.
and Nesbitt with Sarnia.
McNally, with little argu-
ment, the best forward in the
league is in his overage year.
So is Jason Henderson.
Gone are last year's over-
agers Jeff Flanagan and Greg
Matthison. Particularly the
latter, will he difficult to
replace on Seaforth's blucline
brigade.
Veterans Scott Wood and
Charlie Robertson return to
tend between the Cents'
pipes.
Cents plan Alumni game
It's a special season for Seaforth's Centenaires that starts
later this week - their 25th in the Ontario Hockey
Association's Junior D(evelopment) League.
The local hockey club is hosting an alumni game
Christmas week as part of the celebrations. It will pit mem-
bers of this season's squad against the Centenaires' only (so
far) OHA championship team of 1985/86.
The special exhibition game is scheduled for Dec. 27, the
Sunday after Christmas at 2:30 p.m.
