THE GAME: The division's top
squad made short work of St.

by the half.
COACHES COMMENTS:
"Abrupt end to undefeated
streak," says Arts. "Score does
not reflect how game was played.
St. Columban actually carried
most of the play. The difference
was that Forest United capitalized
on every opportunity, like good
teams do. We have to work on fin-
ishing our chances."

loss, scoring three times in the
first inning.
THRILLER: The game was tied
3-3 from the second to sixth
innings. What proved to be the
winning run was generated when
Shawn Van Bakel walked, stole
second and scored on Brett Van
Dyk's single to right. Atwood
almost came right back though in
the bottom of the inning. Their
leadoff batter walked, then stole
second before shcatstop Brent
Coleman snagged a line drive, and
stepped on second to record an
unassisted double play. Darren
Beaver caught a pop fly at second
base to notch the final out. Doug
battled hard all the way on the
mound for the win.
FIRST INNING RUNS: Doig
got things rolling with a double.
followed by Bill Nigh's single.
Coleman cashed them both with a
triple, and then was driven home
by Matt Dalton.

he scored from first base on an

catch against the fence, the high-
light of the evening for the
defence.
