Sunday at Walton last week when the annual Canadian National Motocross
Championships were held their for the seventh time. The place was packed and the roar
was deafening, but dirt bikers like that sort of thing. The top photo was taken during the
"125 intermediate" moto Sunday morning. The bottom picture was taken just before the
"125 juniors" took off.

Fall sessions of fitness, step
and line dancing begins the
week of Sept. 8.
The ,annual "Terry Fox
Run" for cancer research in
Seaforth is on Sunday, Sept.
20, from 1 to 3 p.m. begin-
ning at the community cen-
tres. Pledge sheets arc avail-
able at thc recreation office,
arena, Town Hall. PUC
office, all hanks and the post
office.
Come out and support this
worthy cause. You can run,
walk, ride, hike, rollerblade
or whatever suits you hest.
Seaforth has raised
$38,161.69 at its Tcrry Fox
Runs since 1982. 11 you arc
unable to he in town on this
day, you might want to take
in the run at another arca site.

The "Summer Showcase"
Hockey Game featuring the
Dave McLlwain Hockey
School staff against area
hockey "Stars" is all set to
go tonight (Wednesday).
The puck drops at 7:30 pm.
Admission is free to pre-
schoolers, $3 for students, $5
for adults and $15 for the
entire family. All hockey
school participants will he
admitted free as long as they
wear their hockey school jer-
sey and are accompanied by
an adult. The game feature s
Dave McLlwain, Mike Watt,
Rem Murray and Scott
Driscoll, all home -town
hockey products. They will
be joined by Rod Black of
CTV Sports, Mike Martin of
the New York Rangers and
many more. Don't miss the
excitement, come on clown
to your local arcna tonight.
All proceeds go to the
Scaforth and District Minor
Hockey Association.
The Scaforth recreation
department is hosting power
skating and hockey skills
camps during the first week
of September. Details arc
still being worked out.
Senior shuffleboard contin-
ues every Wednesday after-
noon from 1:30 until 4 p.m at
the community centres.

WEDDING
Jodie Elizabeth Hugill and Michael Adam Kerr were united in
marriage on April 18, 1998 at four o'clock in the afternoon at
Northside United Church, Seaforth, with Rev. Jane Kuepfer
officiating. Jodie is the daughter of Wayne and Joyce Hugill of
Seaforth and Mike is the son of Gerald and the late Annette Kerr of
Blyth.
The maid of honour was Jennifer Hugill (sister of the bride).
Bridesmaids were Kris Gemmell, Cheryl Mcllwain and Angie Jervis
(friends of the bride), Johyn Rock and Jane Johnson (cousins -of the
bride) and Melissa Kerr (sister of the groom).
The Best Man was Brent Scrimgeour (friend of the groom).
Groomsmen were Craig Snell, Jeff Nesbitt and Robb Finch (friends
of the groom), Calvin Kerr and Paul Kerr (brothers of the groom)
and Harold Hugill (brother of the bride).
Readers were Julie Carter and Shelly Lansink (friends of the bride).
The organist was Carol Carter and soloist was Amy Price.
Following the ceremony a dinner and reception was held at the
Seaforth and District Community Centres with Robb Finch as
Master of Ceremonies, The couple honeymooned in the Dominican
Republic, and are now residing in Blyth.
