CURTIS BENNETT' - eight-year-old aces 10th

Bennett bags hole -in -one
Eight-year-old Curtis
Bennett of Stratford fired a
hole in one at the Seaforth
Golf & Country Club on June
29, becoming the second -
youngest by a whisker to
have ever done so at the local
links.
He is the son of Kevin
Bennett, formerly of town,
and both arc members at the
Seaforth course.
Kevin says Curtis started
his round on the 92 -yard 10th
hole, took a couple of prac-
tice swings with his seven
iron, stepped up to the tee,
and bingo!
The hall landed just short of
the green and rolled into the
cup.

Curtis has been golfing for
four years, which still gives
him a leg up on his dad.
Kevin says he's only had
one ace in the 32 years he's
been golfing, and that hap-
pened in his 20s.
There have been a relative
abundance of holes -in -one at
the Seaforth club this sum-
mer.
While Curtis was getting
his picture taken for posterity
after his wonder shot a week
ago Monday, Don Kunder
bagged another ace from the
159 -yard senior member's tee
at the 16th hole.
'It was the second double -
ace day this summer at
Seaforth.
On June 17 the local family
tandem of father Mike and
son Chris Marion both had
holes -in -one on the same day.
There have be n a total of
five holes -in -one• at thc local
course so far this season.
Randi Lynn Wilson remains
the youngest to have ever hit
a hole -in -one here, which she
did on her very first golf shot
ever, on Aug. 17, 1996.
She was also eight -years -
old at the time, hut turned
ninc on that Sept. 4.
Curtis turns nine on July
25, which means Randi Lynn
still rules, with an eight-day
edge.
