Summer is upon us and
many activities in Walton are
finished until fall. Sincc I
haven't any news to report I
will share with readers some
of my excitement for the
week.
Wanting to be farmers, but
on a small scale, my son
Geoff and I have a couple of
goats. They have been very
interesting creatures to have
around. This weekend both
goats had twins.
Not having any previous
experience with goats, I
wasn't totally sure when they
would kid. I knew they were
ready but thc first little one
was a shocker. I was slightly
disappointed at first when I
saw only one kid, but on
closer inspection I saw two
more little hooves showing:
Sure enough out popped
another pure white goat.
I was so excited I had to run
to the phonc to make the
announcements to several
people.
The next day I was better
prepared when I noticed the
other goat, Peg, was getting
ready to kid. This time I had
my video camera ready so
caught the births on the sec-
ond pair. They are such soft
and beautiful little animals.
So our goat farm has
increased by four. Our mis-
sion now is to keep them
alive and healthy, and ready
for the Christmas market...
maybe.

tion that there arc three chil-

Tyler Doig and Brent
Coleman were "whiltmcis-

Then Coleman struck out
another'in the final inning,

The local squirts now have
.chalked up nine wins against
