They were friends that hadn't met at the start Continued from previous page responsible and mature teenagers. They have prepared us well for the future. When all of us graduates fust began our education none of us were strangers. We were just friends that hadn't yet met. Over the years we have built memories here that we will cherish and never forget. As we continue on with our lives we will separate, but our friendships will be greatly remembered. Remember how...Maria Whyte always laughs until she cries; Linda Vogels is such a caring friend; David Smith entertained us with his guitar playing; Danny Sharpe amazed us with his speed. Maggie Nigh made us appreciate all living creatures. Danielle Munro always had time for helping little children. Jennifer Middleditch always had colourful nails. Greg Medd towered over everybody. Then there's Kelly MacGregor with her outgoing nature. David Kloibhofer was always so kind and considerate of other's feelings. Juliane Hundt brought her German style to our class. Josh Holland was our geography expert. Mark Flanagan had a good sense of humour. Angela Eckert was our very own Picasso. Laura Devereaux entertained us with her beautiful voice. Kyle Devereaux forgot about our ski trip. Jason Denys sinks baskets with skill. Leslie Deighton was nicknamed "Tiger" because of her red hair and Lisa de Vries was able to spike a volleyball without having to jump. These memories will add a blossom to the beautiful bouquet of warm and special memories we will gather on life's way. St. James will always have a special place in our hearts. As new a new chapter in our life begins we would like to thank everyone that has influenced us in a positive way. We truly appreciate it. The moment that we have waited for throughout our grade eight year has arrived. Graduation. Graduation. Isn't that such a nice word'' Isn't it hard to believe that this magic time has finally come? This is the time when we remember the great years we have all had readching this special point in our lives and the time when we leave this public school...and perhaps each other. When most of this class arrived here at Huron Centennial for kindergarten. we were scared! Huron Centennial was a new place and a place away from our moms and dads. Huron Centennial was a place away from all the toys of our own homes and things familiar to a strange new world. It was a time to make new friends, to learn how to count to ten and to learn your ABCs and how to tie your shoes. We have•come a long way since that first day we walked through these doors. Now we are walking out of these doors and going in new ones. at new places. The same challenges' that we faced that first day of PI] 111 Thanks for the wonderful memories & Best Wishes in your future! St. James Separate School 1 school will come again and follow us into our new school - but this time we each likely bring close friends with us that we have made here at Huron Centennial. Friends. New ones to be made, for sure. but old friends will not be forgotten. We pulled together this year to become one big, happy group. We have learned to accept each other and to grow together. both as a group and each one on our own. Along the way, we have learned not only the lessons in the classroom but also the lessons outside the classroom. the little lessons in life beyond all that book stuff. We have learned and we have made memories to treasure for a life time. In kindergarten, we went to Storybook Gardens and saw many strange, weird animals, slid down slides into bright colored balls and Me until we were almost sick. We learned new songs like "I Took a Lick of a Peppermint Stick" .and Mark's favourite, "Hello Mr. Robin". We dressed up, played house, listened carefully to stories told around the big circle and slept in our afternoon naps. What a carefree time it was! No one will ever forget Mrs. Gemmell or Mrs. Kemp. We learned how to read books and we didn't get near as many naps with Mrs. Shaddick or Mrs. Rock or Mr. Powers. • Grade Two taught us new skills in adding and subtracting and now the only nap was the occasion "head down" when we were not cooperating. Of course. Mrs. Baker and Mrs. Tiernan didn't have our heads down too many times. Grade Three was a year,of new beginnings. We met "Dimoitou", that little green French things, and took swimming lessons. many of us for the first time. This was the year that. if we were good, we got to bring both Grade 3 classes together for a sing -a -long with Mr. Marsh and Mrs. Hamather. Grade Four was a giant step for us. We were now officially a part of the "Junior Division" with new privileges and new responsibilities. We spent days working on multiplication, division. spelling and. especially in Mrs. Hunter-Duvar's class, working on those grammar cards. Remember when the highlight of the week was either "Show and Tell" or watching "Read All About It" videos with Keep up The Good Work! "FROM ALL OF US AT' Seaforth Jewellers Ltd. Mrs. Kipfer. Grade Five - finally, a school dance with us included! We girls didn't really mind dancing with you boys, even if you all had "cooties". This year when projects for Mrs. Kipfer became something more than just clippings out of a magazine. School was becoming much more difficult although Mr. Walker wasn't, but it was still fun. Grade Six - now wasn't that one hectic year with Mrs. Demers. Mrs. LeBeau and Mrs. Thomas? It seemed we were learning new things every day and learning about Australia, Australia, and Australia. Mrs. Beattie, just where the heck is Australia. anyway'' Grade Seven - was this maybe the year when we started to grow up. even if just a little bit? We started to think about what kind of person we might want to be and what kind of persons we wanted as friends. We participated in many school activities and waited. waited and waited to get to Grade Eight. In Grade Seven. we told Mrs. Beattie where Australia was and wondered if Mr. Laye and Mrs. Cooper might take us there for our Grade Eight trip.
