'We are leaving years of memories'
By Jeremy Hildebrand
Valedictorian
Today marks the end of elementary school
but it's just the beginning of our secondary
education. We are leaving years of memories,
teachers, and even friends behind us. but we
are entering a new school. new teachers, and
new friends. We take a look back today and
remember all the good times and bad.
In Kindergarten half of us .were here at
Seaforth with Miss Pinkham and some were
in Walton with Mrs. Vandendool. We all
remember sleep time. of course. and us here in
Seaforth remember sitting in a bathtub full of
pillows and reading stories.
In grade I most people here had Mrs.
Carroll who remember her guinea pigs. In
Walton the majority had Mrs. Vandendool
again and remember starting to learn French
and Math.
In grade 2 I'm sure we all remember the
"marshmallow" stories we were read each
morning.
Grade 3 here in Seaforth was a unique year
if you had Mr. Farnell who always had us
making neat crafts. In Walton everyone had
Mrs. Scott who was their favourite teacher.
Grade 4 was a memorable year for us all.
This was the year the Walton Public School
kids came her to Seaforth. Surprisingly, all the
students got along.
In grade 5 we all had either Mrs. Griffin or
Mr. Carter. In Mrs.- Griffin's class you
probably remember the school play on the
environment and in Mr. Carter's class of
course you remember hearing a lot of wild
stories and his loud voice.
If you had Mrs. Reynolds for grade 6. I het
you remember all the times we got to help her
run gym classes and all the extra gym periods
we received.
In grade 7, I'm sure both classes (Mrs.
Reynolds and Mrs. van den Akker) remember
the ski trip and our year end trip to Sports
World and the Sky Dome.
In this final year of grade 8, 1"m sure we will
always- think back and remember our grad
trip, our autobiographies. and of course. today.
Now here we are on our graduation day. We
are finished elementary school. This chapter
of our lives is finished. Next year, we will
begin a new chapter with a clean sheet, new
authors. and a million possibilities.
Thank you to our friends who helped us
along the way and to all the class clowns who
make school a little more entertaining. Thank
you to our teachers especially Mrs. Hoelscher
who prepared us and got us on the right track
for high school. Farewell Seaforth Public and
all your memories. We will keep them forever.
Thank you and good luck to everyone:

Positive group parts in many directions
By Denise Areutzw:ser
Valedictorian
On behalf of the graduating class of '98, 1
am honoured to share with you these final
words of farewell. This positive group of
grade eights will part in many directions.
Tonight begins a new journey in our lives.
A special thanks goes out to our teacher,
Miss Stapleton. Miss Stapleton is not only our
teacher, but a friend, someone to trust, and
someone that helped us find our hidden
talents. She taught us to try our best and have
fun because that's all that counts. She has
taught us more than English, Math. History,
You

because you only live it once. She has
prepared us for every challenge life has to
offer.
Another special thanks goes out to Mrs. Van
Dooren. She has been with us since we began
school in September of 1989. Your patience
and understanding never appears to diminish.
Whenever we needed your help, you were
there. Thank you.
Mr. McDade, your positive outlook on life
and great leadership skills have done wonders
for us. We appreciate all the effort you, and
the rest of the awesome staff of St. James

With Father Dino as our guide. we have
strengthened our belief in God. Father has
inspired us in so many ways. including
helping us become adult members of the

Confirmation. Father Dino has prepared us,
spiritually, to face life's trials and tribulations.
We are very fortunate that you were sent to

Our journey through this chapter of life has
gone by quickly. We owe so much to our
families, especially our parents. With the
guidance of our parents we have made it
through the past nine years with only the
occasional cuts. scrapes, and bruises. They
have shown outstanding support,
encouragement, and love for us throughout
our. lives. There are not enough words for us
to express our gratitude. I'm sure our parents
are feeling joy and sorrow tonight. They have
watched their little ones grow up to be
