Canoe
trip was a
big hit at
Queensway
Queernsway's annual canoeing
and fishing trip to Gaschos
pond was - definitely the
highlight of our week.
John Pepper said. "1 can't
believe I waited till 1 was 96 to
go canoeing". Nancy Louch,
Mildred Gingerich, Elsie
Johnson and Lorna Spencer
also braved the waters in the
canoe and had a great time.
Many tried their luck at fishing
and when they returned to
Queensway. there were lots of
fish stories to tell. Murray
Howe landed three fish. John
Pepper, Everett Gallagher and
Walter Smith all reeled in two a
piece.
There was more than enough
exciting things happening to
keep everyone .entertained.
Close to 40 residents and
volunteers enjoyed a delicious
supper of salads, hotdogs, and
five kinds of pie finished off
with cream soda and ginger alc.
By popular demand we may-
have
ayhave to make a return trip. in
August. Also, not one mosquito
appeared. '
Staff and their children joined
residents Tuesday night for an'
evening with Marg and Dickie
Dean, magicians. .
Their sleight of hand tricks as
well as pulling birds out of thin
air kepi everyone mesmerized
for the entire show_ • .
Residents had as much fun
•watching the reaction of the
children as they did seeing the
show:
Harvey Smith and Doug
Insley combined their talents to
provide ,r super evening of
music in the retirement home
lounge for Friendship Friday.
This twice monthly evening is a
