treats at the fair that featured games and pony rides for
students, friends and family.

learn
about life
in India
Kippen
East WI
Kippen East W.I mct at
the, home of Helen
MacLean with Marlene Bell
as co -hostess for its May
meeting.
Grace Drummond,
president. welcomed
everyone and read, "Why I
fired my secretary."
The members answered
the roll call with their
favorite spring flower and
only one had to pay a pin
fine.
Grace Drummond had a
humorous story. Grace Eyre
gave a "smile."
Helen MacLean read a
pocm. "Out of Time."
Dorothy Bell gave us a true
story of an escapade that
happened on one of her
trips. She introduced the
guest speaker, Laurie
Shapton.
Shapton had a most
interesting and informative
talk on her trip to India.
Her pictures also showed
the great contrasts of the
rich and poot and the
luxury and drudgery of the
people. •
Everyone has to work in
the field or home. harding,
working, milking and other
tasks.
The hotels where Shapton
stayed were wonderful but
outside the walls was much
poverty.
Many of us didn't think
we wanted to go to India,
but Grace Drummond
looked quite unique in
Laurie's Sari.
Mona Alderice conducted
a contest.
A lunch was served by
Ruby Triebnee and Lil
McLellan.
