Hospital, on Friday, May 8, 1998,
Kenneth Franklin (Oscar) Morey in
his 62nd year. Beloved husband of
Mary (Brown) Morey. Dear father of
Terry and his wife Sandra of
Seatorth, Cheryl Lynn and her hus-
band Jody Durand of Zurich, Todd
and his wife Lisa 01 Kitchener and
Denise Morey of New Jersey.
Fondly remembered by nine grand-
children. Also survived by sisters
and brothers, Barb and Andy
McLean of Staffa, Betty and Sam
Orshen of Montreal, Joyce and Joe
Vargo of Florida, Bob and Audrey
Morey of Lindsay, June German of
Kitchener and Tom and Joyce
Morey of Shakespeare.
Predeceased by his parents Roy
and Edith (Tucker) Morey and one
sister, Patsy Schultie. Family
received friends at the Whitney-
Ribey Funeral Home, 87 Goderich
Street, West, Sealorth on Sunday
from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral ser-
vice was held at the funeral home
on Monday, May 11 at 2 p.m. Rev.
Jane Kuepfer officiated. Interment
Egmondville Cemetery. Pallbearers
were Chris Schultie, Doug Morey.

COUSINS, Roy: Roy Bean Cousins
passed away on Mav 3, 1998 at
York County Hospital. Newmarket
in his 92nd year. He was prede-
ceased by his first wife Elma Lawrie
Phillips in December 1977 He
leaves to mourn his passing, wife
Reta, son Charles Lawrie and wite
Pieta of London, daughter Elizabeth
Anne (Bette), wife of the late Ivan
Campbell, and son George Gilbert
and wife Emily, and son John Roy
and wife Merle, all of Brussels. Roy
has two sisters living in Richmond
Hill, Dorothy Mitchell and Audrey
Moorley. Grandpa Roy will be fond-
ly remembered by his several
grandchildren and his great grand-
children. Acting as pallbearers were
Murray Cousins, Randy Cousins.
Laurie Campbell, Tim Cousins,
Douglas Cousins and Kenneth
Cousins. Funeral services were
held at 2 p.m Wednesday. May 6
with Rev. Lloyd Brown officiating.
Roy and Elma lived in Elora from
1927 to 1932. There he started the
first dairy to pasteurize fresh milk
for the villagers. Roy and Elma
resided in Bradford from 1932 until
1939, where he operated Cousins
Creamery in conjunction with the
Cousins Dairies in Aurora and
Newmarket. He was charter trea-
surer of the Bradford Lions Club
and a member 01 the Simcoe
Masonic Lodge in Bradford. In the
fall of 1939, Roy bought the
Brussels Creamery, and a few
years later bought Stewarts Dairy,
which he amalgamated the pro-
cessing 01 fluid milk products and
manufacturing of butter and ice
cream under the name of "Cousins
Dairy and Creamery. This contin-
ued until mid -1968, when he sold
the business to Huron Food
Products Ltd.. which closed out the
operation five years later. Roy was
very active in the Brussels United
Church He served 28 years as
manager of the Brussels Cemetery,
during which time the burial chapel
was built, and the grounds were
enlarged and improved. Roy also
served on the village council for
several years. Before being elected
reeve, he promised the ratepayers
that his main priority would be to
have a municipal water system
installed. This was done within two
years, during his seven-year term.
He also convinced Huron County
council to replace the old iron
bridge, a steel girder type bridge,
with a new, wider concrete bridge.
Roy was also active on the
Wingham and District Hospital
board for many years. seven as
board chairman. He also was the
village representative on the
Wingham High School board for a
few years In 1946, the Brussels
Lions Club was formed. and Roy
was chosen to be the first president
He is a lite member of St John's
Masonic Lodge in Brussels, and is
also a 32nd degree Mason Since
moving from Brussels in 1979 Roy
has lived in Aurora and Newmarket.
