PUBLIC MEETING CONCERNING A PROPOSED
OFFICIAL PLAN AMENDMENT
AFFECTING THE TOWNSHIP OF TUCKERSMITH
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the County of Huron will hold a
public meeting on Tuesday, June 2, 1998 at 8:00 p.m. in the Township of Tuckersmith
Municipal Office in Vanastra to consider a proposed Official Plan Amendment under
Section 17 of the Planning Act. -
The proposed official plan amendment would change the designation on lands
described as Part Lot 9, Conc. 2, H.R.S. The proposed change is from 'Restricted
Agriculture' to 'Urban' and from Agriculture' to 'Restricted -Agriculture' in the
Township of Tuckersmith Secondary Plan. (see attached map).
This amendment is being considered to permit the establishment of a 192 lot plan of
subdivision for a residential development. A corresponding zoning by-law amendment
and plan of subdivision application would be made at a later date if the Official Plan
Amendment is approved.
The plan of subdivision is proposed adjacent to the Town of Seaforth and the hamlet of
Egmondville; it would be surrounded by the Seaforth Golf Course. The proposed
development will be serviced by piped water and sewers. The development is intended
for a retirement/active adult community market and will have open space
areas/parkland and affiliation with the Golf Course's existing and proposed amenities.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal
representation either in support or opposition to the proposed official plan amendment.
Written submissions may be forwarded to J.A. Murray (address below).
If a person or public body files a notice of appeal of a decision in respect of the proposed
official plan amendment to the Ontario Municipal Board and does not make oral
submissions at a public meeting or does not make written submissions before the
proposed official plan amendment is adopted, the Ontario Board mav dismiss all or part
of the appeal.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION including the proposed -official plan amendment and
background material is available for inspection during regular office hours at the office
of the Huron County, Planning and Development Department, Court House Square,
Goderich, between 8:30 and 4:30 p.m. Information is also available at the Tuckersmith
