The Hensall Parks Board
extends an invitation to alt
individuals ;nterested in the
future of the Hensall and
District Community Centre.
The meeting will outline a
new fundraising partnership,
which will help to fund major
projects at the facility in the
future. Plan to be at the
Hensel! Community Centre,
Sunday, April 26 at 2 p.m.
Additional information is
available at 262-3206.
Hensall playground pro-
gram will run from Monday,
July 13 to Friday. August 21,
1998. The program..will be of
the same format a. ,t>" --
the first two week, •
swimming, an, ay -
ground progran, ne in
the- afternoons only.-
Registrations

The Hensall United Church
annual beef supper wilt be
held on April 22. Call Marg

Next Sunday is camping
Sunday and dress is casual.
Canadian Tire money would
be gratefully accepted to help
with camping costs. The
Friendship Circle meets May
4 with Betty Simpson of
Glencoe the guest speaker.
The Hensall and District
Horticultural Society donated
an arrangement of plants to
the church on Faster Sunday.

Poster winner guest of Seaforth Legion
Irene Gubleman was a spe-
cial guest at the generalmeet-
ing of Seaforth Legion
Branch 156 last week. She
was presented with a
Dominion Level. Certificate
of Participation for her
achievement in the. Legion
Remembrance Poems.
Posters and Essay Contest
last November. Shc was a
first place winner at Seaforth
District High School,
Seaforth Legion and Zone CI
levels, as well as the District
C level. She won in the
Black and White Posters cat-
egory.
During the meeting dona-
tions were made to the
Seaforth Fishing Derby
($300) and the Gurka
Association (5100). The
Gurkas arc a regiment of sol-
diers from India who fought
with distinction in World War
II but on their discharge,
whether wounded or not, did
not receive any benefits from
any government.
The election of officers for
the coming year was held
with Deputy Zone
Commander Eric Ross and
Erroll Skillender in charge.

FRIENDSHIP CIRCLE
The April meeting of the
Friendship Circle of Hensall
United Church was chaired
by Kay Mock. She welcomed
all including the afternoon
ladies group of the church.
The devotional was taken
by Helen MacLean and she
opened with a tape of the St.
James male chorus -of New
Glasgow. N,S. singing "Jesus
Set Mc Free".
One of the guests for the
evening was Katelyn Krahn
who gave the story "The
Wonderful World of Jillian
Jiggs". Katelyn placed first in
her class at the Exeter Public
Speaking contest and third at -
Seaforth. it was greatly
enjoyed. A poem written by
Wm. Wordsworth "1
Wandered Lonely as a
Cloud" was given by Ka)
