An open culvert that runs though the rear of her proper- ty at 58 Coleman Street con- cerns Sandra Melady enough that she asked if Seaforth Council could do something about it. Melady is worried about her young children. and wondered if a grate could be put on the outlet, enough to prevent kids accidentally get- ting in the culvert without restricting the flow. Works superintendent John Forrest said outlets aren't usually grated in this town. He said the fineness of grate necessary to restrict a child has in the past proven to greatly impede flow. Forrest said a similar cul- vert/outlet by the ,puhlic school has caused many problems, and it's even smaller. Mayor Dave Scott said council would keep investi- gating options.
