STRANGE SIGHT - The Easter bunny and his buddy, a
duck, were giving out eggs from their baskets on Main
Street in Seaforth on Saturday moming. That's Brent Ribey
in the shades. Brad Crawford is the one with the beak.
Open culvert a concern for mom.
An open culvert that runs
though the rear of her proper-
ty at 58 Coleman Street con-
cerns Sandra Melady enough
that she asked if Seaforth
Council could do something
about it.
Melady is worried about
her young children. and
wondered if a grate could be
put on the outlet, enough to
prevent kids accidentally get-
ting in the culvert without
restricting the flow.
Works superintendent John
Forrest said outlets aren't
usually grated in this town.
He said the fineness of grate
necessary to restrict a child
has in the past proven to
greatly impede flow.
Forrest said a similar cul-
vert/outlet by the ,puhlic
school has caused many
problems, and it's even
smaller.
Mayor Dave Scott said
council would keep investi-
gating options.
