HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Huron Expositor, 1998-04-08, Page 16SEAFORTH HARMONY KINGS BREAK INTO SPRING - Guest quartet, Pastime, Mitchell Concert Choir, Seaforth Harmony Hi-Lites and local quartets performed in the 16th annual Barbershop Show on April 4th. The Harmony Kings performed a single show at Seaforth District High School in a new venue and format. (Dalrymple photo) Seaforth Manor residents enjoy musical entertainment Seaforth Manor residents enjoyed a busy month of March with many entertain- ers in to provide music. `Milt Satchcll's Band of Stratford entertained for the St. Patrick's Day Dance and Birthday Party. "Tribute to the 1950s" was a great success and "Elvis" was a hit too. There were some great out- fits worn by the staff. Thanks to Carol Humphries of Egmondvillc for loaning us costumes and to Linda Doig for supplying the SDHS cheerleader uniforms. Staff member Pat Bishack was the hula hoop champion with an Twins visit Seaforth Five SPS students travelled to France over the March Break as participants in a Canadian Education Exchange Foundations pro- ject planned by Mme. Holmes for 37 Avon Maitland Students. These students will host their "twins" from Alencon in Seaforth from April 5 to 16. If you see them out and about. please welcome them with a friendly smile .and a "Bonjour!" Tracy McLennan has not confirmed that she will coach next year. hut she was inspired to sec the talent of SDHS dchatcrs at Mitchell's tournament. There seems to he a resurg- ing interest in debate at SDHS. Declining involve- ment appears to he a thing of thc past. and with experi- enced debaters returning to next year's team, thc 1998-99 'season looks promising. amazing time of 25 minutes. A close second was Cynthia Blackwood who hula -hooped for 18 minutes and 45 sec- onds. Pianists Carol Carter and Marian Rose entertained and Gloria Wilhce who delighted everyone with an afternoon of guitar music and singing. She is a member of "Wilbee's Orchestra Generation II".
