FALL & WINTER ACTIVITIES
SEAFORTH RINGETTE
Ringette offers a unique activity to girls and women of all ages and levels of skill. It is a team sport, played on ice
with full equipment required. It gives girls a chance to experience the joys of recreation, competition and friendship.
Our teams travel to local towns to play their games and also attend some tournaments in larger centres. There always
seems to be an abundance of dedicated parents and volunteers involved in this fast growing sport. Many of them
coach, manage. officiate or hold a position on the executive. The ringette assopiation tries to foster the highest stan-
dards of sportsmanship and friendliness to all participants. If you would like to volunteer or you have a child interested
in playing. contact the Recreation Office at 527-0882.
SEAFORTH MINOR HOCKEY
Seaforth and District Minor Hockey is for players ages 5-19 and is a member of the WOAA (Western Ontario Athletic
Association). Teams regularly travel in the area for games. Aside from the travelling teams, Seaforth Minor Hockey
offers a houseleague system in which players meet for a game on Saturday mornings. Ice time is available for players
from late September to late March. Registrations at reasonable rates are always held in early September. Well-known
players like Dave McLlwain, the Murray brothers -Rem and Pat, Boyd Devereaux and Mike Watt have all been devel-
oped by the Seaforth and District Minor Hockey system. Aside from participants improving playing skills, hockey
offers a great method of exercise and many lasting friendships. For more information on Minor hockey, call 527-0882.
C4TH CENTENAIRES JR. DEVELOPMENT HOCKEY CLUB
Junior hockey in Seaforth and the Ontario Hockey Association go back a long way together. The latest incarnation of
this relationship is the Seaforth Centenaires who now compete in the OHA Junior Development League. In the years
prior to and following that championship season the Cents have had good years and bad -but one thing remains con-
stant -the Centenaires have an unmatched record for player development. Many former Cents have gone on to play in
the National Hockey League or other Professional Leagues around the world and another has become an NHL official.
Still others have gone on to star in Junior B. Junior A. semi-professional or university hockey in Canada and the
United States. The Seaforth Centenaires Junior Development Hockey Club is made up of a volunteer executive and
booster club. Managers. coaches and trainers are selected by this executive and reimbursed at discretion. The team
welcomes volunteers for both large roles and small. everything from handling tickets at the door, to running the clock
and singing the anthem to supervising the on -ice operationof the club: If you would like more information on the

SEAFORTH-EGMONDVILLE JUNIOR BROOMBALL
Broomball has played an important part in the sporting activities of Seaforth and surrounding area for many years.
The sport involves people from the community of all ages. A season generally runs from the beginning of October
until the middle of March'at the Seafotth and District Community Centres. •Broomball is played on ice'with running
shoe-type1footwear. The Junior Broomball League involves children from ages 5 to 18. Boys and girls from ages 5 to
12 play on Wednesday ,night followed by girls ages 13 to 18. play Thursday evening. The Junior League is supported
by the Seaforth-Egmondville Broomball League. Women's houseleague is played Wednesday, following the juniors
while men play on Thursdays. Come out and experience the fun.
