CONTINUED from Page 9.
The score remained dead-
locked until Farquhar's win-
ner ,early in the third,
Although Seaforth sniper
Steve .Mclnally hit the post
with 15 seconds left•in thc
game. a shot some Seaforth
supporters swear crossed the
line.
Seaforth coach Dave
Murray said such "bounces"
decided both the' game and
series. He said there wasn't
much difference between thc
two old foes but gave credit
to the Hawks: saying they
stayed focussed and came to
play for a full 60 minutes the
entire series. .
,Friday -night's game in
Seaforth was equally as
' superlative entertainment.
• Mclnally and Scott
Henderson each scored twicc
and . Shaun 'Anstett and
Brandon Nash added singles
as Seaforth took a 2-1. lead
after the. first and maintained
a 4-3 edge after two, out
shooting the Hawks 42-28 on
the game.
But it was closer than the
shots would indicate.
The score remained 4-3
until Scott Henderson stole
the puck around the Exeter
crease with persistent digging
while the.Cents were short-
handed and scored with 23
seconds left on the clock to
ice it.
Twice in the game
Henderson also rushed back
to break up Exeter break-
aways without taking a
penalty on the play.
Mclnally fired,Seaforth's
final goal into an empty net
with five seconds left.
' Wednesday night at Exeter
was the only lopsided score
of the week.. with the Cents
losing by four. Jeff Flanagan
scored twice for Seaforth and
Tim Fifert got the other.
Shots were even at 32 apiece.
Goaltender Scott Wood was
in net. for Seaforth in all four
of last week's games.
He stoned Jeff Finkbeiner
of the Hawks on two break-
aways last Tuesday night.
and otherwise was outstand-
ing in another terrific tilt in
front of a full house:
Anstett broke • the 1-1 dead-
lock with the winner at 18:05
of the third period.
