Cumberland scores in final minute
Stingers take silver at Provincials
Seaforth's Stingers came up
a goal short but won silver
medals after the belle "A"
final at the Provincial
Ringette Championships last
Wednesday.
Cumberland beat them 5-4,
scoring the winner in the
final minute.
Scaforth's Kim Devereaux,
who recently competed at the
Ontario Winter Games,
wasn't the force to be reck-
oned with that she usually is
in the final. She injured her
knee and missed the final two
games of the preliminary
round.earlier in the week, and
was only at about half -speed
for the championship game.
Seaforth beat Cumberland
8-5 with her in the lineup
during the preliminary round.
The Stingers got a bye into
the final after finishing with
five wins and a loss in the
preliminaries.
They were 4-0 after the first
two days of the competition,
Sunday and Monday.
