Huron hosts '99 IPM

Huron County's ver-
sion of the
International
Plowing Match and Farm
Machinery Show Sept. 21-
25, 1999, will focus on
people as much as
agriculture.
It will be uniquely
Huron featuring home-
grown entertainment and
area history and will rec-
ognize the county'sgrow-
ing tourism industry and
its agricultural mots.
"It's a showcase of
Huron County. That's real
ly what it's all about," said
IPM co-chairman Gerald
Thiel of Zurich.
Next year's match will
mark the fourth time in 53
years the county has host-
ed the IPM. The last time
the match came to Huron
County was 1978 on the
farms of Jim Armstrong
and • neighbors near
