President Jim Watson opened the meeting with the carrying of the colours with Sgt. -at -Arms Gordon Delong in charge and Colour Bearers Mary Becker and Judy Poland. President, Jim welcomed everyone. Gordon DeJong made the toast to the Queen and also the toast to our fall- en comrades. Grace was said by Jean Ross. 1st Vice President Linda Gridzak introduced the head table guests including Zone Commander CI June Pyette, Ed Pyette Zone CI ,Honours and Awards Chairman, Zone CI Ladies Auxiliary Commander Eva Brown and Jim Brown, President Jim Watson and Betty Watson, Ladies Auxiliary President Mary Doig and Ken Doig; David Watson, Ways and Means Chairman; Mayor of Seaforth Dave Scott and Kathleen Scott. L.A. President Mary Doig and Zone Commander Eva Brown presented long service awards to Maxine Marks. Shirley Cooper, Marilyn Kramers and Monica Williams. 5 years; 15 years - Willie Hoornaert, Margaret Londery; 35 years - Donelda Barry. Past Executive Bar and Medal, Clara DeJong. President, Jim Watson and Gordon DeJong presented Branch long service awards to associate members, 10 years: Ed 'Clarke, Eric Driscoll and Jane Habkirk. 15 years: Gail Hoffman, Laverne Jamieson, Dave Watson; 25 years: Ed Baker, Brian Barry, Ronald Bennett, George Kruse, Jack Muir, Brian Phillips, Jim Sills, Bob Watson, Ralph Wood and Jim Watson. Regular members: 30 years, John Baker, 35 years, Gordon DeJong, 40years, George Earle. There are a lot of awards both for the Ladies Auxiliary and the Branch which were not given out as the recipi- ents were not present. Anyone who was to receive an award can pick theirs up by coming to a mcetitfg. Certificates of Appreciation were presented to Mary Becker, Judy Poland and Bruce Wilbee. There arc a lot of upcoming events to be reported next week or check at the Branch. Duck Race tickets are on sale at the Branch and from some members. Brotherhood Night is being held on Fcbruary 26th. Branch 156 is the host this year. Come out and hear guest speaker Dr. Ken Schonk, Kitchener. All men from Seaforth and arca and other organizations arc wel- comed at this event. It was amazing how the school filled up with people and in no time all the baking was gone. rn keeping with the winter games Walton school held their own winter olympic games - Walton style. Such games as snow soccer, speed boot relay, hockey, nerf cross bow competition, snow snakc (a native game) and the Triathlon were part of the fun for the afternoon. ' A big thank you to six Walton school grads who came from Seaforth Public School to give Walton a hand with the hake sale and the winter games, Stacie Giller, Amy McClure, Kris McNichol, Brian Dolmage, Jeff Linton and Kenny McCallum were greatly appreciated.
