Whether it be with a card, flowers or just a phone caH. We would like to welcome our new residents Rodney McLaren, Sam and Grace Scott, Ferg and Teresa Feeney. We welcome you to your new home and hope that you enjoy it here. Welcome. We are saddened this month with the passing of one of our residents, Thomas Miller. Our sympathy is extended to his family and his friends at this time of sorrow. We will miss him dearly. On Jan. 15th, we enjoyed a great time at our Winter Bali. We listened and danced to music played by the Zurich Connection Band. Out of lorty-four people attending, many of our residents, staff members and people from the community enjoyed dancing to waltzes. polkas and heel and toe polkas. Prizes for spot dance were given to Margaret Radford, Henrietta Brown and Jean Hildebrand. Viola Lawson celebrated her birthday and we all sang Happy Birthday to her. Norman Turrall was crowned "King of the Winter Ball" and Henrietta Brown was crowned "Queen of the Winter Ball". Door prizes were drawn for Sam Scott. Patrick Hayes. Phillip James. Ruth Thorhurn and Ferg Feeney. We all had a wonder- ful time. We would like to thank the Zurich Connection Band for the great music. we enjoyed this very much. Sam and Grace Scott.Olive Ball and George Wright enjoyed going to the dining for seniors program at the arena. Jan. 15. They had a great meal and really enjoyed the company of other people from the community. On Jan. 18 Marianne Van Eshroeck cooked brunch for us. Fresh bacon. eggs and toast are always a treat. Geri Fashions clothing will be coining to Seaforth Manor on Tuesday. March 3I at 10 Slides shown at Manor Seaforth Manor Retirement Home) (Seaforth Manor Nursing Home a.m. to 3 p.m. Regular and special wheelchair clothing will be available. Everyone is welcome to come. We are making a Valentine's basket for a raffle on Feb. 14th. Donations of non-perishable items are wel- come and may he dropped off at the Retirement Home and put in the basket in the lounge. Thank you. During January residents welcomed Rev. Dino Salvador. Rcv. Nick Vandermey and Rev. Rick Lucas for church services. We wish Rcv. Lucas ail the best as he embarks on a new phase of his ministry in Belize. South America. Our talented piano players Carol Carter. Marian Rose and Bill Gibson each enter- tained with lovely piano con- certs. We were delighted to have Rev. Jim Sloan from Corunna return to show his slides of Scotland for Robbie Burns Day. A Scottish menu round- ed out our celebration. Our "Mexican Fiesta" included a travelogue to the sunny south as well as some hot and spicy nachos and dip. Residents arc enjoying our Pet Therapy Program with volunteer Cindy Holland and her Boston Bulldog "Connie". Another favorite is our massage therapy program with volunteer Barb Elliott. The Nursery school's monthly visit is one everyone looks forward to. Several residents enjoyed joining our Retirement Home for their "Winter Ball" with the "Zurich Connection". Everyone is looking forward to our "Valentines King and Queen of Hearts Ball" which will be held on Thurs. Feb. 19, at 2:011 p.m. featuring the "Notes of Yesteryear". We arc currently expanding our pastoral care committee at Seaforth Manor. We hope to have a representative from each denomination co-ordi- nate a visiting program from each church. If you are cur- rently a visitor or are able to visit one resident once a month on a regular basis or are interested in being the "Visiting Co-ordinator" for your church please call Cheryl Phillips al 527-0030 for more information. We would like to wish Norman Turrall a happy birthday on Feb. 3. Until next month take care. Lynda Horbanuik, seated takes the opportunity to have her blood pressure checked by Val Poisson RPN at the Seaforth Community Hospital during the Heart and Stroke Foundation's soup luncheon Friday at the Seaforth Curling Club.
