Cents win fifth -straight at home
Seaforth's , Centenaires
racked up their third -straight
win, and their fifth in a row
on home ice, by putting the
North Middlesex Stars away
4-1 at the arena Friday night.
It was the only start of the
weekend for the rejuvenated
Seaforth juniors, who with
the win have all but clinched
the fourth and final playoff
spot in the Morenz Division
of the Ontario Hockey
Association's Junior
"D"evelopment League.
The Cents are the defending
Morenz champs.
They played again last
night (Tuesday) in Exeter but
results weren't available at
press time.
Exeter returns the favour
with a visit to Seaforth
Friday night at 8:30 p.m., and
the Centenaires are also in
Belmont to face the Bombers
Sunday.
Parkhill open ,the scoring
in Seaforth Friday, but that
was all she wrote for the
Stars. It was 1-1 at the end of
the first period and 2-1 for
Seaforth after two.
The Cents out -shot the visi-
tors 40-27, with Chuck
Robertson picking up the win
between the pipes.
Mark Van Dooren, Steve
Mclnally, Jason Henderson
and newcomer Shawn walsh
scored for 'the Green."
NEW SIGNINGS
The Centenaires have
signed- some other newcom-
ers, winger Brandon Nash,
18, of Seaforth and defence -
man Daryl Jenson, 18, of
Stratford.
He had been playing with
Seaforth broomball ro
defenceman Ian McMillan
with a brilliant pass from his
side -kick Ryan Nicholson.
But low and behold Parr
Line pulls up the socks and
starts popping in goals, cred-
ited to Claude Poirier, Grant
Bergsma and Lawrence
Bergsma. Quick passes by
Tim Bylsma, Mike Smale,
Darrell Lavis and Kevin Van
Den Neucker.

Broomball Jan. 8
Grads 5 Parr Line 0
Parr Line men seemed to
have trouble getting out of
their own end as nothing was
going right. A tough game
for these guys, but they just
keep on struggling. Grads
poured on the goals by Al
Wynja, Jim Nyenhuis, Chris
Goris, Tony Van Den Heuvel
and Steve Wynja. Passes
were contributed by Jason
Phelan. Jerry Zwep, Joe Vink
and Harold Hugill.
Cyclones 4 Knights 0
Poor Knights work so hard
hut only ring the crossbars
and goal posts. Maybe next
week gents. Cyclones all
must have had a good New
Years, look at the goals they
chalked up by speedster
Adam O'Neil, Tony Van Den
Heuvel and Paul Bellinger.
Lots of passes by Mac
O'Neil, Dan O'Neil and
teamwork by all the O'Neil
boys.
Jan. 7
Parr Line 0 Farmerettes 0
This was a back and forth
game as the Farmerettes
came out strong in the first
half and then it seemed to
turn around the second. Parr
Line took shot after shot but
both goalies played well.
Farmerettes get 10 points for
a check given to a Parr Line
player, who soars through the
air and lands with grace on
her "butt". Luckily, just her
pride was hurt.
Socialites 2 Polar Ice 4
Socialites pick up the pace
with two neat goals scored by
Karen Delvecchio and Marg
Henderson with quick passes
by Carol Humphries. Polar
Ice crept ahead with goals by
Jody Horton, Sharon Fell
Dunsmore and Cindy Moorc,
with lots of passes from Vicki
Innes and Debbie Noye.
Juveniles 1 Parr Line 3
Juveniles get Parr Line men
all flustered by scoring the
first goal, credited to all-star

Manager Dave Parsons
thinks, subtract some one -
goal losses earlier in the
schedule and Seaforth would
be in the thick of things in
the battle for top spot with
Lucan, Exeter and Mitchell.
The Cents have lost by one -
goal twice to division -leaders
Exeter and Port Stanley, and
also Lambeth.
That's a 12 -point swing.
Seaforth is maybe now too
far back to realistically take a
run at third. But everything
will be equal again once the
playoffs start in about a
month.

Winthrop 0 Royals 1
This was definitely not
Winthrop's night for scoring
goals as they couldn't buy
one. The Royals amaze
themselves as Chris Talbot
flips the ball over the oppos-
ing goalie's head and yes, it
goes in the net. Mr. Mike
Waugh gets the assist. I'm
sure the two goalies will be
chatting about this little
endurance.

Starting to playing like defending champs
Cents win fifth -straight at home
Seaforth's , Centenaires
racked up their third -straight
win, and their fifth in a row
on home ice, by putting the
North Middlesex Stars away
4-1 at the arena Friday night.
It was the only start of the
weekend for the rejuvenated
Seaforth juniors, who with
the win have all but clinched
the fourth and final playoff
spot in the Morenz Division
of the Ontario Hockey
Association's Junior
"D"evelopment League.
The Cents are the defending
Morenz champs.
They played again last
night (Tuesday) in Exeter but
results weren't available at
press time.
Exeter returns the favour
with a visit to Seaforth
Friday night at 8:30 p.m., and
the Centenaires are also in
Belmont to face the Bombers
Sunday.
Parkhill open ,the scoring
in Seaforth Friday, but that
was all she wrote for the
Stars. It was 1-1 at the end of
the first period and 2-1 for
Seaforth after two.
The Cents out -shot the visi-
tors 40-27, with Chuck
Robertson picking up the win
between the pipes.
Mark Van Dooren, Steve
Mclnally, Jason Henderson
and newcomer Shawn walsh
scored for 'the Green."
NEW SIGNINGS
The Centenaires have
signed- some other newcom-
ers, winger Brandon Nash,
18, of Seaforth and defence -
man Daryl Jenson, 18, of
Stratford.
He had been playing with
Seaforth broomball ro
defenceman Ian McMillan
with a brilliant pass from his
side -kick Ryan Nicholson.
But low and behold Parr
Line pulls up the socks and
starts popping in goals, cred-
ited to Claude Poirier, Grant
Bergsma and Lawrence
Bergsma. Quick passes by
Tim Bylsma, Mike Smale,
Darrell Lavis and Kevin Van
Den Neucker.

Broomball Jan. 8
Grads 5 Parr Line 0
Parr Line men seemed to
have trouble getting out of
their own end as nothing was
going right. A tough game
for these guys, but they just
keep on struggling. Grads
poured on the goals by Al
Wynja, Jim Nyenhuis, Chris
Goris, Tony Van Den Heuvel
and Steve Wynja. Passes
were contributed by Jason
Phelan. Jerry Zwep, Joe Vink
and Harold Hugill.
Cyclones 4 Knights 0
Poor Knights work so hard
hut only ring the crossbars
and goal posts. Maybe next
week gents. Cyclones all
must have had a good New
Years, look at the goals they
chalked up by speedster
Adam O'Neil, Tony Van Den
Heuvel and Paul Bellinger.
Lots of passes by Mac
O'Neil, Dan O'Neil and
teamwork by all the O'Neil
boys.
Jan. 7
Parr Line 0 Farmerettes 0
This was a back and forth
game as the Farmerettes
came out strong in the first
half and then it seemed to
turn around the second. Parr
Line took shot after shot but
both goalies played well.
Farmerettes get 10 points for
a check given to a Parr Line
player, who soars through the
air and lands with grace on
her "butt". Luckily, just her
pride was hurt.
Socialites 2 Polar Ice 4
Socialites pick up the pace
with two neat goals scored by
Karen Delvecchio and Marg
Henderson with quick passes
by Carol Humphries. Polar
Ice crept ahead with goals by
Jody Horton, Sharon Fell
Dunsmore and Cindy Moorc,
with lots of passes from Vicki
Innes and Debbie Noye.
Juveniles 1 Parr Line 3
Juveniles get Parr Line men
all flustered by scoring the
first goal, credited to all-star

i
BEUERMANN
Words cannot express the sincere
gratitude that we have for all of you
who helped us in any way to make
it through the harvest season and
the balance of the year. Without the
willingness of friends and neighbors
in our community we would have
found it much more difficult. We
wish all of you the best in the new
year. Sincere thanks. - Elsie, Greg,

the Tavistock Braves who
have more blueliners than
they know what to do with in
the JDL's East Conference.
Jenson played with the
Stratford -midgets last year.
Manager Dave Parsons
thinks, subtract some one -
goal losses earlier in the
schedule and Seaforth would
be in the thick of things in
the battle for top spot with
Lucan, Exeter and Mitchell.
The Cents have lost by one -
goal twice to division -leaders
Exeter and Port Stanley, and
also Lambeth.
That's a 12 -point swing.
Seaforth is maybe now too
far back to realistically take a
run at third. But everything
will be equal again once the
playoffs start in about a
month.

Winthrop 0 Royals 1
This was definitely not
Winthrop's night for scoring
goals as they couldn't buy
one. The Royals amaze
themselves as Chris Talbot
flips the ball over the oppos-
ing goalie's head and yes, it
goes in the net. Mr. Mike
Waugh gets the assist. I'm
sure the two goalies will be
chatting about this little
endurance.

value of $5,000.
