Santa brings kids goodies
The turkey draws and
Karaoke last Saturday were
again a hig success. The
committee thanks everyone
who helped in any way to
make it the success it was. 1
hear we have a lot of hidden
talent in the branch.
There are still tickets avail-
able for New Years Eve.
Tickets S20 per person start-
ing with social 7-8 p.m.
Sunday was the Legion
children's 45th Annual
Christmas Concert. While the
crowd was smaller than
usual. the quality of the per-
formers was just great. All
those present enjoyed the
children's entertainment.
After the concert Man' Doig
led the children in songs and
carols until Santa Claus
arrised. Santa gave each
child present a goodie hag of
nuts. candy. apple and
orange. President Jim Watson
welcomed everyone on
behalf of Branch 156.
The following children took
part in the concert: Angelina
Adair. Kaitlin and Boo
Watson. Matthew Delone
played the fiddle. Jessica
Deicing. Larissa Popp sang.

Seaforth Women's Institute
held their Christmas meeting
with a potluck supper at the
First Presbyterian Church.
Everybody joined in singing
Christmas carols. Helen
MacKenzie gave a reading
"Wishing for Christmas
Wish". The guest was Mike
Van Bakel. Mike was our
contestant for the fall fair.
Casey. Mike's father sang
two Christmas carols. Betty
Hulley gave the reading
"Christmas in Florida"_ The
quilters were all invited to
our Christmas meeting.
Euchre was played and
prizes were awarded to high
lady. Betty Hulley: high man.
Frank Hulley: lone hands.

meeting at the home of
Gladys Doig. President Olive
Papple welcomed everyone
and opened with a poem. "I
Don't Remember". The
opening Ode and Mary
Stevan Collect were repeat-
ed. The minutes of the last
meeting were read by Betty
Hulley. Roll call was
answered by eight members
and one guest. The treasur-
er's report was given by
Helen MacKenzie.
The Sunshine convenors
will he visiting the shut-ins
before Christmas.
Olive Papple gave a report -
from the London Area
Convention. Olive Papple
gave a report from the
District meeting which was
held Oct. 28.
The District Annual meet-
ing will he held on May 21.

you bring your own toilet
paper as it is hard to come by

to the people and kids go to
school from 8:(8) a.m. to 4:00
and for some there was
school in the csenings as
well. People are conditioned
to get only 5 hours of sleep
so it isn't unusual to see chil-
dren up till 11:00 p.m. Study
and more studying is a con-
stant oyer there for school
children. Crime rate is %cry
low there as a result of kids
in school and homework.
Sunday is a family day and
that's when families :sen
their dog. go shopping_. The
markets are jam-packed with
people buying groceries.
