An 8-2 Toss at Mt. Brydges to the Bulldogs Saturday night, and a 7-5 win over the Trojans from Thamesford in Seaforth Friday, allowed the Centenaires to stay in the fourth and final playoff posi- tion in the Morenz Division, keep four points in .front of the North Middlesex Stars. The Cents let veteran for- ward Jason Murray got the Mitchell Hawks, in exchange for I 6 -year-old defenceman Adam Boshart. Former coach Dave Murray has returned to help out behind the bench. "We figured Dave could give us that." "We hope he can help our two rookie coaches (Tom Turner and Brian Nigro) see that the team makes the play- offs," He added. The Centenaires were Morenz Division champions last season. The last time they missed the playoffs was 1989-90. NEW PLAYERS As for the flipping cards with Mitchell - Jason Murray for Boshart - manager Parsons says he needed defensive help, the 16 -year- old is a much-needed addi- tion, and he got him for a player who wasn't playing for the team anyway. The Cents have nine wins and 15 losses and are 10 points to the rear of the third- place Hawks in the standings (who are only two points out of first in a developing log- jam at the top), and the two arch -rivals square off in Mitchell Friday night at 8:35. Seaforth is in Parkhill for a crucial game against the Stars the following night. Manager Parsons says more new players arc on the way. Mt. Brydges scored six unanswered goals in the sec- ond period Saturday night to salt the game away. The Bulldogs led 2-1 after the first. Steve Mclnally and Jason Henderson scored for Seaforth. The night before on home ice. Mclnally scored three and Scott Henderson added two goals for the Centenaires, who led 2-1 after the first and 6-4 after the second. Scott Van Dooren and'Greg Matthison rounded out the Seaforth scoring.
