Cents beat Stars, lose to Lakers and Hawks
The Seaforth Centenaires
had an inspiring win, fol-
lowed by a couple of diffi-
cult -to -digest losses last
week.
Head coach Tom Turner
says players are going to
have to stop yapping at one
another on the bench and
start thinking of the team if
they want to chalk up more
of those "inspiring" wins.

Munro scores for Lincs
Defenceman Jared Munro
of Egmondville scored a
goal for the St. Marys
Lincolns last week, in their
5-3 Toss to the London
Nationals in Western Junior
B Hockey League play.
Munro played for
Seaforth's Centeniares last
season.
Watt sinks Sens
Rookie forward Mike Watt
of Egmondville scored the
only goal of the game, and
his first one in the National
Hockey League, propelling
the Edmonton Oilers to a
much-needed win, 1-0 over
the Senators at Ottawa on
Saturday night.
Up until late in the third
period it was a goaltenders'
duel between Damien
Rhodes of the Senators and
Curtis "Cujo" Joseph of the
Oilers, gunning for his sec-
ond -straight shutout.
Watt was in his fifth gamc
since being called up from
the AHL's Hamilton
Bulldogs. He took a pass
from the corner from Jason
Arnott, fed by Dean
McAmmond, and beat
Rhodes on the stick side
with 4:52 left in the game.
It was the 13th shutout of
Joseph's career.

Livestock destroyed
A farrowing barn in
Fullerton Township was
destroyed in an early -morn-
ing fire Nov. 14.
Owner James Vander
Heide estimated close to
1,000 pigs, including 100
sows, died but favourable
winds prevented further
damage to his house and a
high moisture silo and its
contents at Lot. 5, Conc. 5.
The OPP reports livestock
valued at $80,000 perished.
Firefighters were on the
scene for about four hours,
and they say the cause is
undetermined but not suspi-
cious.
