HomeMy WebLinkAboutThe Huron Expositor, 1997-10-29, Page 8I've got about as much
rhythm as a rock.
And I thought clogging was
something that mainly hap-
pened to drains, until I went
in search of this week's scoop
and gave it a shot at the arena
Thursday night.
The deal was, yours truly,
"Joe Reporter" left the cam-
era in the bag and if they
didn't laugh at me I wouldn't
laugh at them.
Clogging is certainly differ-
ent, and definitely gets the
old blood flowing.
It wasn't as bad as the first
(and only) time I did a front
flip in gym class back in high
school, when it took seven
spotters and the teacher
almost had a heart attack,
when I missed the mat, land-
ed on my head and almost
broke my neck.
But last week's experience
still wasn't something you
would want to sit down and
watch on video.

Seaforth's Centenaires have
certainly pulled their socks
up after an 0-4 start to this
Ontario Hockey Association
Junior Development League
season.
They beat the Lancers 4-3
at Lambeth Sunday night,
after an 8-5 win over the
always -tough Trojans from
Thamesford in Seaforth
Friday night, to even their
record after 10 games at five
wins and five losses.
They are now in third place
in the Morenz Division, three
points up on the Mitchell
Hawks, who have lost four -
straight.
Coach Tom Turner says
he's getting excellent mileage
from the team's affiliate play-
ers and the negativity that
seemed to plague players on
his bench earlier this season
has ceased and desisted.
"Everybody is patting each
other on the back now and

Scott and Mark Van
Dooren, Scott Henderson and
Steve Mclnally did the dam-
age for Seaforth at Lambeth.
The Lancers scored first,
but the Centenaires took a 2-
1 lead after the first 20 min-
utes of play. They increased
their lead to 3-1 in the second
before the Lancers narrowed
the gap by scoring with 35
seconds left in the second, a
goal by former Centenaire
Steve Geiger.
McInally settled things with
what proved to be the win-
ning goal into an empty net
with only 37 seconds left in
the game, while the Lancers
had an extra attacker on the
ice. Lambeth got its final
goal.with 10 seconds left.
Chuck Robertson got the
win in the Seaforth net.
Both Van Doorens finished
with a goal and two assists.
CENTS 8 TROJANS 5
Mclnally got his second hat
trick of this season in Friday
night's win, in which special
teams played a huge part.
The Centenaires scored three
short-handed goals, and
another three on the power-
play.
They led 4-2 after the first
and 6-3 after the second, with
Ryan Shelton recording the
win in net.
Sean Anstett added a pair of
goals for Seaforth, with Jason
Murray, Jason Henderson and
Scott Henderson bagging the
others.
Each team had 39 shots.
