FALL FAiR PARADE - The recent Fall fair wends its way down Seaforth's Main Street in the sunshine.
Classic children's story
Kim Souch of Seaforth is
among those acting in
Charlotte's Web, a classic
children's story about a spi-
der and a pig, to be presented
at Blyth Memorial
Community Hall on Oct. 25
at 1 and 3 p.m.
The E.B. White tale is
directed by Blyth Festival
board member Duncan
McGregor.
It is about "Wilbur, a pig
lovingly raised by a girl
named Fern," a Festival press
release notes. "When he
becomes a barn pig, he is
bored and lonely until he
meets Charlotte, a beautiful
gray spider who also lives in
the barn. With the help of a
rat, goose and sheep,
Charlotte thinks of a wonder-
ful way to save Wilbur from
a pig's unhappy fate and
ensure him a happy life on
the Zuckerman farm."
Other area Thespians
involved in the production
include Anne Elliot, Erin
Roulston and Capucine,
Teaguen and Zoellyn Onn, all
of Blyth, Kaitlyn Knight of
Goderich, Kira Stuckey of
Wingham and Carol Oriold
of Listowel. The play also
features puppets, comedy and
original music by Arlene
Darnbrough of Goderich.
Charlotte's Web will also
play to school groups,
Kindergarten to Grade 6,
from Oct. 21 to 25, and Oct.
27 to 31 with two, one-hour
performances per day.
It follows in the tradition of
other recent Blyth children's
hits - New Friends, Old
Friends last year, Let's Do
Munsch in 1995 and Peter
and the Wolf in 1994 - pro-
ductions which played to
more than 14,000 students,
teachers and parents, the
press release states.
