Pork producers
Huron pork producers
announced a "hunger
alliance" at their fun day near
Varna Saturday.
"A network of pork produc-
ers, processors and food
banks in Huron County co-
operating in the fight against
hunger," as producer Jody
Durand calls it in a press
release.
"This initiative means that
meat. often a rare donation at
the food banks, can be made
available. Huron pork pro-
ducers can send pigs of any
-size to any of the 10 proces-
sors in Huron County to be
processed as a s';;;un Pork
Hunger Alliance pig.
Any producer donating a
pig will be issued a tax
receipt for a charitable dona-
tion. Processors can donate
light hunger NUMMI
the processing and also
receive a tax receipt.
Participating abattoirs are in
Walton, Hensall, Brussels,
Zurich, Bayfield, Exeter,
Wingham, Dungannon,
Fordwicb and Clifford.
