to see such a positive, friend-

Miss Stapleton, you have
taught us so:much in only the
ten months that you've been
at St. lames, not only in
Math, Science, English and
computers, but also to live
life to the fullest. Life's too
short. so spend it making
moments priceless. You've
been so patient with us and
so understanding that it's as
if you were an angel. We
have been lucky to have had
you as our teacher this year.
Mr. McDade's influence on
us has been great. His strong
Christian values and his great
outlook on life tells us to try
our•hardest in everything.
Every year, he tells us about
the Notre Dame rules: 1)
Always do the right thing. 2)
Do the very best you can. 3)
Be kind to everyone you
meet. These rules have made
an enormous impact on our
class and we thank him for it.
Father Hardy's done so
much for this class. He's
inspired us in so many ways
that there isn't a number that
goes so high. For one, he
gives us encouraging class
talks about reality and pre-
pares us for high school. He
always looks on the bright
side of things and smiles. His
colorful socks have also
inspired me personally. It's

not to worry about what oth-
ers think. We wish you luck
at St. Mary's in London.
Please continue to pray for us
as we choose a new path in
life. Our prayers will be with
you always.
We owe our parents a big
"Thank You" for what
they've done for us in these
nine years. They have guid-
ed, supported, and shown
outstanding love for us as we
have journeyed from
September '88 to the present,
June '97. I'm sure that they
as well arc feeling joy and
sadness. They' sec us growing
to be responsible and mature
adults. They have prepared us
for what lies ahead on the
path of life.
The graduates of 1997 will
surely have a place in their
heart for St. James, always.
These halls and classrooms
hold many memories: from
Kindergarten up to yesterday.
All the teachers have been
great and have made a
tremendous impact on us.
Since we were little tykes in
Kindergarten. all of the staff
have 'taught us so much.
When we started school, we
couldn't read. write, add and
subtract. Look at how much
we've progressed in nine
years. This is practically
where my life began, where i
met my friends, lost my first
tooth, received my first per -
feet test, was in my first
musical and experienced the
excitement of downtown
Toronto. 1 thank you for that
privilege and promise to
remember you always.
I'd like to recite a poem
that we read this year in class
and I think that it applies to
all of us:
"Nature's first green is gold
Her hardest hue to hold
Her early life's a flower
For only so an hour.
Then leaf subsides to leaf
So Eden sank to grief
So dawn goes down to day
Nothing gold can stay."
But the fact that each of the
graduates is gold in one way
or another,will always stay.
Whether it be in Math, bas-
ketball, or music, all of this
class is gold.
I'd like to share what I'll
always remember about each
person: Robyn Arts: for
being first in track and field
running events; her outlook
on life; Jesslyn Carnochan:
for having an awesome per-
sonality; being so kind to
everyone; Matt Denys: for
just being himself, making
everyone laugh; Jenny
Ducharme: for chewing gum
in class and getting caught,
for being so outgoing; Kyle
Henderson: for being able to
figure out the hardest math
problems' for having an

1 will treasure these
thoughts forever and bring
them with me wherever I go
in life.
As I conclude, 1 would like
to give the graduates a piece
of advice: * Life is like a box
of chocolates, you never
know what you're going to
get. * Never say never. *
Don't underestimate the gold
person that you are; have
faith and pride.
Packing up the dreams God
planted
In the fertile soil of you.
Cant believe the hopes
He's granted
Means a chapter in your
life is through.
No, a lifetime's not too long
To live as friends.
Best wishes and good luck
for what lies on the path
ahead of you. Thank you.
