happy children? Then be sure
to attend the Family Literacy
Festival.
This annual celebration of
reading will return to Clinton
for the fourth year from May

to be an exciting and enter-
taining event for children and
adults alike.
The Family Literacy
Festival is a unique event
which brings children, adults,
storytellers, oputhors and
musicians together for three
days of entertainment and

Ineet some favourite authors.
Held annually at the Clinton
Fair Grounds, the Literacy
Festival is attended by thou-
sands of school aged chil-
dren, adults and families who
enjoy musical entertainment
and workshops with some of
Canada's finest children's
book authors.
Again this year school aged
children from throughout
Huron County will attend a
Festival returns
half-day session at the
Literacy Festival. Last year
more than 3,800 school aged
children registered for the
event. The event is organized
so that each child will see an
author and attend a work-
shop.
Workshops are held in 10
Targe covered tents and run at
40 minute intervals begin-
ning at 9:30 a.m. and again at
12:30 p.m. after lunch.
Along with the daytime pro-
grams, on Thursday, May
29th an evening family show
will be held in the Clinton
Arena. The hour-long show
will feature entertainers Rob
Neves and Peter Snell. This 7
p.m. show is for the entire
family and is presented free
of charge.
All events held during the
Literacy Festival are free to
the general public although
schools pay a registration fee
for each child to help offset
the cost of staging the event.
