Clerk/administrator Jim Crocker called it "a bit of good news" since the work was budgeted for about $40,000 more. Two long blocks on John Street, from where last year's work ceased, to Louisa Street are to be reconstructed. Rcsurfacing of the Railway Street extension, up by Sun North and the new Huron Ice plant, is covered by this ten- der, as are sanitary sewers on Main and Huron Streets around the local branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. The clerk told council he expects work to start shortly, and much could be complet- ed before the big trade show in Seaforth in the first week of June. Plowmen get Seaforth grant 'Although it hadn't been officially budgeted for this year and wasn't in last year's budget, Seaforth Council dipped into "miscellaneous" to grant $ 100 to the Huron Plowman's Association this month, for its 70th annual county plowing match in Tuckersmith Township this summer, at McIntosh Poultry Farms Ltd. The association included last year's financial statement with its request, and Reeve Bill Bennett observed before council's vote that "they spend a lot in town." This year's annual Huron County Plowing Match is scheduled for August 21 and 22.
