May 14. 1$S7 Residents say `Goodbye to Winter' April was the month for residents of Maplewood to enjoy all the sights and sounds of spring. A trip to Bayfield was a perfect way to begin the month. It was quite evident that winter was surely behind US. A "Goodbye To Winter Party" was held at Maplewood. After a delicious picnic style lunch in the din- ing room, residents headed for the ball diamond. What fun we had with all the hits and misses, not to mention the tricks that a couple of the players had up their sleeves. Several residents enjoyed the afternoon at the Spring Barbershop Show. What an excellent performance. A spring fashion show was the highlight of the visit from Geri Fashions of London. Viola Lawson, Jean Durst, Helen Nott, Hazel McGonigle and Olive Papple did a great job modeling the fashions. Door prize winners were Helen McLaughlin, Belle Roberton_ and Jennie Turnbull. • Stanley Township Athletic Association 1 "WlN A NEW '['RUCK ELIMINATION DRAW AND DANCE Owner of the last ticket drawn has his/her choice of one of the threics listed below: 1997 Dodge V2 tion • Supplied by Goderich Cl a er Jeep 1 1997 Ford 1 ton • Supplied by Hart Ford Mercury • Seaford) 1997 Chev 1 too • Supplied by McLaughlin Chev Olds • Sealorth BATTER UP - Herta Brodhagen waits for a good pitch from Ed Andrews during the festivities of the "Goodbye to Winter" party at Maplewood Manor recently.
