cottage in June or July of
1995, after selling the Park
House. Music's belongings
were packed into boxes and
are stored at Anne's sister's
cottage.
Morris reviewed police
interviews with Murray in
which he indicated he didn't
believe Mistie had run away
but suspected she was
abducted.
"You knew in your own
heart and own mind that
Mistie was not a runaway,"
Moms said.
"That's not true," Murray
responded.
"I suggest to you, that you
caused her death." Morris
said.
"That's not .true," Murray
said.
Morris then suggested
Murray cleaned out Mistie's
locker before school ended
because he knev. Mistie
wouldn't be coming back.
Again Murray said that
was incorrect. He and Anne
had talked about cleaning out
the locker and decided it
y questions Mu
would be too difficult for
Anne.
Morris asked why he
wouldn't have brought the
police when be did it.
"Our daughter was miss-
ing. 1f we cleaned out her
locker prematurely, then 1
really don't have an answer,"
he said.
Murray denied cleaning
out the locker because he
wanted to see if there was
anything damaging to him
inside.
If he was doing that,
Murray said he would have
started with Mistie's bed-
room.
"Maybe you did that too,"
Moms said.
"Did 1. Mr. Morris'?"
Murray responded.
Morris accused hint of not
setting up Mistie's bedroom
at the cottage but Murray said
her room is there for her.
"As soon as Mistie comes
back, she is more than wel-
come to sleep in her bed,"
Murray said.
Morris also questioned
•
rray's actions
why Murray didn't contact
the police with information
that Mistie had been at the
boat on the afternoon of May
31. Monis said Murray knew
the last known sighting of
Mistie was around 4 p.m. at
the high school and that
Mistie had to have been at
the boat sometime after that
to clean out the refuse she
left there during the Victoria
Day weekend.
I wasn't aware my move-
ment that particular day was
in question," Murray said. He
said it wasn't until after he
was named a suspect that he
and his family started recon-
structing his whereabouts on
May 31.
"You deliberately kept that
point from the police,"
Moms said.
"Mr. Morris, 1 have noth-
ing to hide," Murray replied.
Morris also pointed out
that it wasn't until months
later, that Murray mentioned
any specific details about
events at Snug Harbour, such
as talking to Bridle or getting
help with his boat from fish -
omen. Again, Murray said it
was because his own where-
abouts didn't seem signifi-
cant until he found out he
was a suspect.
Morris reviewed state-
ments made about the boat in
a June police interview, say-
ing Murray skipped over a
reference Anne made about
taking the boat out that day.
Murray said he was
answering a question
Constable Mark Johnston
asked him and Anne had
interrupted with that com-
ment. He said Anne's com-
ment had nothing to do with
the question and he continued
answering it.
Morris said Johnston had
asked for other specific
details about that week but
Murray never mentioned any-
thing about the planned trip
tc• Penetang or taking the
boat out that night.
"There's really nothing
about Wednesday evening."
he said.
•Murray said the subject of
the boat wasn't being raised
at that interview. It was Anne
