Osborn as manager. In
1965 it amalgamated with
United Auto Parts (UAP)
and became a corporate
store. In 1975 UAP was
sold to Gary Smith to

Owner Bruce Wilbee
talks about the challenges
of doing business in a
s tough economy with
g increased competition
ine from outside of town.
"Competition from big-
ger stores and towns is
getting tougher all the
time. All we can do is
stock what we think we
should, give the best ser-
vice we can - which is eas-
ier with our overnight
warehouse service - and
hope the customers will
give us a chance to show
them what we can do."
He is hopeful for the
future. "We are a small,
hometown business that
we hope will be here for
many years to serve the
town."

prised of a group of very
dedicated volunteers.
Originally titled
"Seaforth Branch No. 15
of the British Empire
Service League," it was
chartered on October 25,
1929 with Col. R.S.
Archibald serving as
President. The name was
changed to the "Royal
Canadian Legion" in 1962
From its first day the
Legion assumed responsi
bility for all matters per-
taining to the welfare of
veterans and their depen-
dents, ever mindful of
those who paid the
supreme sacrifice in two
World Wars. One of its
first activities was to orga-
nize a church parade and
an Armistice Day Service
which still takes place
every November 11 at the
cenotaph, a church ser-
vice held the Sunday
before.
