ANNA'S DRESS SHOPPE of Seaforth provides a full range of ladies' clothing.
Anna's o
ers worldwide fashions
In June of 1982 Anna's
Dress Shoppe had its
grand opening at 16 Main
Street, Seaforth. Owner
Anna Hamilton brought
the business here from
Brussels because she
wanted to carry a larger
line of today's fashions
and needed a bigger com-
munity to succeed.
The store's beginning in
Brussels was a joint ven-
ture for Mrs. Hamilton
and her mother, Anna
Hayward. (Hence the
name.) Mrs. Hayward
gradually retired due to
poor health and daughter
Anna continues to operate
the business.
The ladies' clothing
store brings in fashionable
merchandise from many
places throughout the
world in order to fill her
customers' requests. They
provide a full range of
apparel from jeans and
.sweats to prom dresses.. •
Because they are open six
days a week for shopping

Anna would like to thank
Seaforth for their contin-
ued positive response to
her business, and invites
everyone to come in to the
store for their clothing and
gift needs. "You'll not

Good food, good atmosphere at Janet%s
Janet's Country Donut
Cafe at 164 Main Street
S., Seafotth is the place to
go for good coffee and
conversation, It's a 24-
hour restaurant and donut
shop, serving a $3.50
breakfast -special from 6
a.m. - 2 p.m. daily, and a
$4.59 (+ tax) lunch special
which includes soup, sand-
wich, coffee and donut.
Most days this will be
dished up with a smile and
a friendly comment by
full-time employee Willie
Hoornaen, who impresses
everyone with her ability
to see her 'regulars' com-
ing and have their order
ready for them when they
get to the counter.
Janet and John Haak pur-
chased the shop in
February 1995 with a bit
of trepidation, having
Never owned a business
before. "We were worried
at first, strangers in a small
town. But the opportunity
was there and everything
fell into place really quick-
ly."
Janet feels that staff is
the backbone of any good
business, and her staff
reflect her philosophy of
'treating others as you
would want to be treated.'
JANET'S COUNTRY DONUT CAFE at 164 Main St. S.
Along with Willie, the
other full-time employees
are Gayle Hoffman and
Lou Harper. Laura
Mulder, Kelly Boyd,
Michelle Henderson and
Rose Hackett work part-
time, Lori -Ann Moore and
Bev Beaver are the bakers.
The business is surviving
in today's economy
because of the courteous,
polite service and the way
in which they strive to
address their customers'
needs. It's always a little
slower in the winter so
Janet has had to cut back
on her staff's hours but
things always pick up in
the spring. Strategic menu
planning and organized
ordering allows her to stay
on top of budgeting" in
today's unstable economy.
"I hope to be here for
many years to come.
Competition is always out
there but you keep trying
new products, make sure
the food is good and fresh..
My employees do a lot for
the business, a positive
attitude goes a long way."
Most of her customers
would agree that the fast
service, good food, rea-
sonable prices and excel-
lent service make Janet's
Country Donut Cafe a
pleasant experience.
"We try to keep our cus-
tomers happy," Janet says.
"It's nice to meet new peo-
ple, know all our regulars
and make new friends. I
enjoy doing business in
Seaforth, it's great to be in
such a friendly town."
