At the general meeting of
Seaforth Branch 156 of the
Royal Canadian Legion last
Thursday, Al Nicholson was
presented with his 50 -year
service pin by James Watson.
Anyone else who was unable
to attend the Honors and
Awards dinner to receive
their pin, please contact Jim.
Donations were made to the
following: Durham Flood
Relief Fund $200; Seaforth
March Break skating, 2 hrs.
skating time $170.
Jean Ross, seniors chair-
man, reports there will not be
euchre on March 3. Play
resumes on March 10. There
are still lots of tickets for the
barbecue on March I. There
will be meat draws, karaoke
entertainment etc. Please get
your tickets as soon as possi-
ble.
Sunday, March 16 the
Branch will be holding a
Sunday dinner for the public.
Desserts and help will again
be needed for this event.
The Provincial Service
Officer will be at Branch 156
on Friday, March 21 rt 9 a.m.

Dramateers
meet again

Our second meeting was
held on.Feh. 10 at the Vanden
Hoven residence. We began
- the meeting with the 4-H
pledge, lollowed by the min-
utes read by ,the secrelat;y.
Laura Devereaux. We chose
our title page. it was drawn
by Katelyn Cannon. We
made a graph of our favorite
t.v. shows. We also designed
couch potatoes. We watched
one segment of the drama
Anne of Green Gables, and a
tape teaching kids how to
mime. We, The Eleven
Dramateers, acted out mimes
and charades. individually
and in a group. We had a
blast. We again ended with
cookies and juice.

High school broomball tourney
There is a FBAO high
school Broomball
Tournament at the arena
today, therefore Parents and
Tots Skating will be can-
celled. Parents and Tots
Skating will also be cancelled
on Tuesday. March 11 and
Wednesday, March 12. This
is the first week of March
Break and a Mite Hockey
Tournament is taking place
on the Tuesday and Atom
Tournament on the
Wednesday. Parents and Tots
skating will resume the fol-
lowing week.
The Seafortp Recreation

DAY HAPPENINGS -
March Break Program.
Children ages 5 to 12 can
come out and enjoy 5 excit-
ing days of activities during
the first week of the March
Break. Activities include
Swimming, Bowling,
Skating. Arts and Crafts,
Gaines, Sports and more.
The program operates from
March 10 to March 14, 1997,
9 am to 4 pm each day. The
meeting place will be the
Seaforth. and District
Community Centres unless
otherwise told. You can reg-
ister for the full week $45, or
by the day - $10 or even 1/2
days - $5. Family discounts
of 3 or more is 10% off. To

Senior Shuffleboard contin-
ues every Wednesday after-
noon at the Seaforth and
District Community Centres
from 1:30 to 4 pm. All
Dublin area saddened
by two recent deaths
Dublin and surrounding
areas were saddened this past
week by the deaths of two
very special ladies.
Loretto Shea died on Feb.
19 at Seaforth Community
Hospital. Heartfelt sympathy
is extended to her son, Jim
Shea, R.R. # 1 , Dublin; to
daughters, Mary and her hus-
band Karl Regier, Zurich; to
Veronica and her husband
Charlie Price, Stratford; to
Teresa and her husband Jerry
Lassalinc, Guelph; to Irene
and her husband Don Kelly
of St. Columban, to 23
grandchildren and 10 great
grandchildren. Sympathy
also to Loretto's brothers, Joe
Delaney and wife Mamie,
Dublin; to Jim Delaney and
wife Dorothy, St. Columban;
to sisters, Helen McLaughlin,
Walton; to Evelyn O'Neil

CARTER - WHITMORE
Margaret Leanne Whitmore and Donald Bradley Carter were
united in marriage in a lovely autumn ceremony on October
12, 1996, at Northside United Church, Seaforth. Rev. Bruce
Cook and Mrs. Jane Kuepfer officiated. Leanne is the
daughter of Bruce and Margaret Whitmore. Brad is the son of
Donald and Carol Carter. Maid of Honour was Melissa
Whitmore of Ottawa, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were
Julie Vandendool, Embro, friend of the couple, Joanne
Carter, Pontypool, sister of the groom and Lori Bruxer,
Chatham, friend of the couple. Best man was Brad
Beuttenmiller of London, friend of the couple. Groomsmen
were Trevor Fortune, Seaforth, friend of the couple, Brent
Whitmore, Kitchener, brother of the ,bride and Carmine
DiPrata, Mississauga, friend of the couple. Ushers were
Darrell Key, Toronto and Dan Wicki, Ottawa, friends of the
couple. Carolyn Griffin accompanied the soloists, Lisa Strong
and Lori Janmaat. Audrey McElwain, trumpeter, added a
special touch for the processional and recessional. The reader
was Jessica Hubert, cousin of the bride. Candle lighters were
Janice Carter and Julie Carter, sisters of the groom. Leanne
and Brad. who now live in Mississauga, would like to thank
