Let's discuss the four
considerations as they relate t
your wedding photos.
Time of year
People choose different tim
of year for many reasons but .1
to early September are by far
most popular months. It's a
shame that May, September
October are under utilized as th
tend to be comfortably cooler a
provide plenty of soft, natural
available light in the mid to late
afternoon and into the evening.
This complements many weddin
schedules and the wedding party
as well. Consider these months.
Time of day
Everything revolves around the
time of the ceremony and so it is
important to consider the kind of
natural light available at the time
of day that the ceremony ends
and the pictures begin. Any mid-
day wedding throughout the
wedding season can expect harsh,
uncomplimentary overhead light
after the ceremony. I would be
planning for a location shoot
somehwere with lots of shady
areas to counter this. A better
solution is to avoid the time of
day altogether, if possible, and try
to get married later in the day
when light is softer and easier to
control.
nine available
It is important to allow the
photographer sufficient time to
produce good images. If you
request a lot of pictures and allow
only a little time, I can guarantee
the results will suffer. If you wish

images then leave a reasonable
amount of time to accommodate
this.
I ask for, but seldom get, three
hours while two to two and a Etalf
hours is typical. Be sure to
reserve a portion of this time for
the most important images of the
day...photos of the Bride and
Groom, of course. Talk to your
photographer about their needs as
each works at a different pace.

memorable ones. But,
unfortunately, location use is also
an underutilized tool for wedding
photography and once again, the
main culprit is time (or rather a
preceived lack of it).
If you want unique images,
taking them at a unique location
will certainly help. Huron County
residents could not be more

locations. You just have to be a
little creative and adventurous
and perhaps be looking for
quality rather than quantity in
your wedding pictures. Be sure to
