made that if a board member
had to miss a meeting for
some reason, it would be four
months in between meetings.
A vote was held on a
motion to retain the monthly
meeting schedule. Three
municipalities voted against
(Seaforth, Tuckersmith,
Bayfield.), three voted for
(Colborne, Goderjch,
Clinton) and the tie-breaker
was cast by Chair Cox of
Goderich Township on the
'for' side. Lucknow's repre-

which range from $1.50 to
$3.
"Does she (the letter writer)
have any other means of dis-
pensing her garbage?" asked
McLeod.
"There's Tots of ways
around it," said Cox. "But
I'm not recommending we
give a special rate for the
(summer) season."
It was recommended a let-
ter be sent on behalf of the
board stating that the mini-
mum five -dollar fee will
stand to cover operating costs
athe site.

regarding engineering costs
for capping a number of test
wells at the site this year.
He had checked with an
engineer who said'there was
"no need for engineering
work on the wells (by
Conestoga -Rovers)."
"It can be done on-site by
staff," said McLeod. "There's
$1,600 in the budget for engi-
neering to cap the wells.
Capping is budgeted at
$7,500."
The board will investigate
whether a cost savings is pos-
sible for this.
The landfill presently has a
flat $5 fee for people bring-
ing in less than 300 pounds
of sorted, household garbage.
"The reason the five -dollar
fee was implemented was to
discourage people for bring-
ing in one bag," said Ken
Hunter, Commissioner of
Works for Goderich.
Site Supervisor Frank
Postill said the five -dollar fee
is based on one-seventh of a
ton. "We gain a little on that
(five -dollar fee). I think the
towns are losing a bit,"
Postill said, referring to the
