Local goalies came up big. Nick Chessell got the shutout on.the road at Durham as the Stars .notched a 2-0 triumph in atom 1 action, and Dan O'.Reilly .was almost as stingy for the bantams against 'Durham at the Spaforth and District -Community-Centres, helping the hometowners to a 4-1 win. Game two was still up in the air at press time. Our peewee "11"s host Arthur in their first game a week Friday, on Feb. 7 at 8:15 p.m. .Both the atom "11"s and midgets await the winners of other first-round playoffs. Those atoms are automatic WOAA champs, since no Otherteamscompeted. at their -level -in the area. They will play the winner of another OMHA first-round playoff, perhaps not .until Feb.. 23 by when a winner -must - be declared. The Seaforth •midgets. are similarly waiting for a win- ner from the best -of -three first-round playoff .series between Clinton and Durham -which also ',might not be known until the 23rd. And Seaferth's intermedi- ate girls will probably begin their playoffs Feb. 9, against an as -yet -to -be -determined opponent.
