Fly in food?
Continued from page 6.

many things that related to.
dinners.. Also.they talked
about how to (believe it or
not) spit out pits or spoiled
food politely. Another lcnic
was restaurant courteous 1t a
(not acting or eating like a
slob).
Using a knife and fork, and
cutting were well talked
about topics. Hilda Bach (the
club leader) even used -food
to really get the message
through. She gave two mem-
bers (and herself) plates and
an item of food. They
showed how to cut and eat
.certain foods. Hilda got a
chicken (but didn't really cat
it), one member got noodles,
and the other got a banana.
(Yes a banana). The entire
meeting worked out great, as
always.
Old X-mas seals
The Lung Association of
Huron -Perth Counties has a
special Christmas seal collec-
tion amongst the other sea-
sonal displays now at the
Stratford -Perth museum.
The framed collection fea-
tures a complete set of
Christmas seals from 1927,
the first year Canada had its
own nationwide seal, up to
and including the 1996 issue.
The collection also includes
examples of earlier stamps,
such as the one produced by
the Muskoka Free Hospital
for Consumptives in
Bracebridge in 1910.
The collection was donated

A Review of activities at
SEAFORTH COMMUNITY HOSPITAL
YOUR INPUT PLEASE Staff and patients are reminded of the
importance of completing SCH "We Care What You Think"
Questionnaires. Please be sure to give it to your nurse or deposit in
the anonymous box provided in the Patient Lounge.
OCCUPATIONAL THERAPY WEEK was Oct. 28 -Nov. I, 1996.
The Staff participated in a draw for a flower arrangement donated by
Hildebrand Flowers - thanks Steve! It was won by Judy Lamont, RN
who answered tpe question, "What is Occupational Therapy?"
STEPHANIE PETERS has been the SCH Occupational Therapist
since Aug. 1995. She has resigned to pursue full time employment
with Huron County Home Care. We wish her "all the best!"
SARAH JOHNSTON is volunteering with the Activation Group
here @ SCH for 3 months until she joins her parents on an exchange
trip to New Zealand. "Welcome and Thank you Sarah" from SCH.
SALVATION ARMY ANNUAL CHRISTMAS VISIT to share
"Songs of the Season" in voice and with band accompaniment
Monday, December 2, 1996 at 6:30 p.m.
REGISTERED & REGISTERED PRACTICAL NURSES an
informational session outlining new Quality Assurance Program
developed by The College of Nurses will be presented Dec. 3, 1996
2-3 p.m. AND 3:30-4:30 p.m. in Conf. Rm. 2. The Program was
developed by The College of Nurses in response to the Regulated
Health Professions Act (RHPA) legislation. Focus will be on the role
of the College, the meaning of self regulation and the framework of
the QA program. Specific responsibilities of the CNO and each nurse
in relation to this program will be discussed. The goal of the session
is to enhance awareness of the QA program before it is launched in
January 1997. Pre -register by calling 527-1650 Ext. 219.
