He asked if the act should define farm practices and codes of practice and whether farmers should be compensated for not being able to use a regular farm practice such as spreading manure near municipal wells. Villeneuve mentioned another program called Grow Ontario, which was announced in the province's spring budget. "Grow Ontario is meant to add a bit more spark to that flame of agri-food and rural inventiveness. It's meant to be a catalyst for bringing players from different parts of the food chain together to invest their time, their effort and money in co-operative new ventures." Villeneuve said 16 con- tracts are being prepared and signed but farmers have until Jan. 1 to prepare, applications and project plans., Six Dublin heifers sell at Brussels Livestock The. sales at Brussels 99.00 to the high of 103.75. St. Columban Woodchucks work with screws By Linda Vogels Last Thursday the St. Columban Woodchucks held their fifth meeting. The first thing they did was read their manuals. Then they played Jeopardy, screwed a screw into a block of wood, and identified different kinds of screw heads. We had to look and see if the screws were Robertson, Phillips, etc. Then we could finish painting the designs on our birdhouse or give it a second coat. They also nailed the roof and plat- form pieces to the body of the birdhouse.
