The midget girls started off the set with an aggressive attitude and ended up defeating the Redmen 48-14. Kim Janmaat had 16 points, Marsha Denys 12 and Jen Delvecchio 8. The senior Bears played second and by working their defense ended up winning 35-5. Carly Price had 15 points, and Tara McLellan 8. Perhaps the most exciting game of thc day was left to the end. Thc junior Bears were tied until the final moments and with three sec- onds left Heather Dale scored clinchinga 28-26 victory. Top scorers were Amy Ramon, Abby Dietz, Carali McCall, Katie Murray, and Heather Dale with 4 points each. Emotions arc running high as the battle for playoff posi- tions continues: the SDHS Golden Bears played in Exeter, Monday. The final season game is today (Oct. 30) against the Wingham Mustangs. Congratulations also goes out to Sarah McLellan who placed 23rd at the WOSSA cross country nic'ct last Thursday. Sarah improved, her winning time by 'two' • minutes. Way to run Sarah. BY JANE POWELL The CLN' class visited the Blyth Festival Theatre on Friday "to Sec the production "New Friends, Old Friends." Wendy Case organized the event: keeping with her tradi- tion of- extracurricular involvement during her years. as a student at SDHS. Her hopes were to "help further the development of social skills by exppsing her stu- dents to real life outings with, a taste of theatre." Students enjoyed the production which enhance their learning out- side the classroom. Seaforth Community Hospital is holding a mood disaster drill today (Oct. 30) in association with communi- ty agencies and Disaster •Team Reader Jennifer Penner and Greg O'Reilly. contin- gency team leader. SDHS drama student will act as casualties in the event (with the hopes of proving their acting abilities) while M -s. Penner hopes to have a smooth, efficient drill. The event promises to be 'fun', yet reflects a much more seri- ous event, emergency response in the Seaforth com- munity. OK Winthrop you finally scored some goals as first - goal was awarded to Joc- Kyan and second goal by a rookie Mark McNichol, lots of assistance .from 'Dave Sooliticns, Steve Knights., Mike Tliorn,as and Jerry Bremner. The rookie took a 12 minute time' out i}s he couldn't believe he scored a. goal i .guess a• shim break was needed for him to get his second 'wind. KNIGHTS 1 RAIDERS 0 Our Raiders were :Short on players and on goals. Mr. Vink didn't .seem to have a problem on .scoring a goal as the other leant had a•no show.
