"That would be something that would be of interest to my client," said McDonald. Chair Harron asked that berming be discussed at the next public meeting with the neighbours. He also requested the municipality have a copy of the streetlight design when they meet with neighbours after Ring raised concerns about the lighting situation on the new street. Potter said street lighting wasn't on the drawings and that he "couldn't remember" the •lighting setup because it had been "six years ago" .he last saw the drawings. The chair said the drainage should be better after the sub- division is built than before. No. Cross Examination Ring's lawyer didn't wish to cross examine the engineer or county planner. Chair's Closing Comments "I understand the concern of the Rings. It (the subdivi- sion) can have an impact on the lifestyles you're used to," said Harron. - "I think the evidence is clear. that the municipality hilt attempted on occasions to meet with neighbours hut it .didn't conclude to the satis- faction of the Rings." He asked George Ring to go into the next public meet- ing for neighbours "without a chip on your shoulder." "Go in with an open atti- tude and strong suggestions to council," said the chair. "The Rings would like to see the subdivision designed in a different manner but that's not before the board. If they had rear lots abutting them rather than + street, it would mean less (lis ,!,tion. But 1 don't have jurisdiction to put conditions on plans," said Harron. "Thc board will dismiss the appeals. The bylaw is in effect the day it was passed."
